So I would just like to say Rent-A-Center is a great program for people that have bad or no credit! It helps people have nice things at an affordable rate! How it works is you can pay out the door for the cash price or pay that same cash price off in 90 days interest free! You can pay weekly biweekly or monthly.. Or however works for you. The agreements are fixed so if you do go full term it will be more expensive but you are paying it off little by little with the product conveniently in your home! After the 90 days if you haven't paid it off you will start to pay cost of rental. It doesn't make your weekly price go up but part of that weekly price will go towards your cost of rental and part of it will go towards your cash price. As far as going to people's houses.. Yes they do visit people who have not had any communication with the store for more that 5 days past the day their agreement was due to be paid. If the customer does not answer our phone calls or does not call themselves they will go to your home in hopes to reach you. Just the same as buying a vehicle if you do not make your payment and have not communicated with the store they will repo their items. You have to pay your bill! They work with you if you have to be late and it's a great program for people who do not want to take advantage of the system! The service their items and deliver and set up for free... The people that give bad reviews about harassment and how they are so unfair clearly do not pay their items on time and do not communicate with the store.

Before stepping into a Rent to Own understand how their business works. The low weekly rates come with high prices at the end of the payout term. Yes, it does cost only 19.99 a week to own a 65' Vizio, but it probably has a 170+ week payout term. They also offer a 90 day same as cash, but not even that would convince me with their over the roof prices. For example, they offer the Xbox one at a 90 day same as cash for over 600 dollars. I was able to find the same bundle on Amazon, Ebay, Miscrosoft.com, Walmart and Bestbuy for only 349.99. Talk about a ripoff right?

The way it works is, they buy the items for half the price they sell them for, pretty much trying to profit all then can.

How do they get their money? For example here in the soledad store they do not check credit, and they accept ANY form of ID. What does this mean? They target the bad credit and the undocumented.



A little about this store in Soledad : besides the prices being real high and NEVER having great deals, the store manager (Angel) is a real headache. This guy insults his own coworkers, he goes through several of them a year. He goes face to face with customers and harrases them at home. He intimidated them at their OWN home threatening to call the cops! Now isnt that a damn shame. Talk about violating their rights and privacy. This guy also cheats out LOTS of customers. This is the worst place to shop or work. Stay away or learn the hard way.
