I went in today mid day and I was 1 of 2 customers in the store. Not one salesperson said even hello to me. I believe they judged me because I happened to have a pull over hooded sweat shirt on. I need to buy a living room set and a bedroom set. needless to say I will not be returning there ever!

I have previously purchased all my furniture from Holmwoods, easily spending $10k over the years. No longer will I promote or recommend anyone to go there. I recently stopped by for the recent sales event because I needed a living room set. I always inquired about an issue I was having with the finish on my diningroom table. Was disappointed that when viewing my history there was none, so know one could help me with that unless I can bring in the receipt, but that's not the real reason for this rant- I purchased a living room set, even though it wasn't the exact one I wanted. I didn't have 21 days to wait because I was moving over the weekend, I know I should have measured the space ( which is small so size did matter). I went back to measure today and was disappointed that it won't fit. The original sales guy was trying to be helpful but there was nothing in stock that would work. So I needed to be refunded. This was not a special order as I had excepted to purchase the floor model so it was in store. After waiting too long for my refund I was charged a 15% restocking fee- this is what makes the consumer feel unappreciated. To feel the need to restock an item still in the store is ludicrous- I can see if it was ordered and delivered.... This wasn't the case. So I heed warning to never my from Holmwoods in Somersworth NH- there definitely is plenty of other stores to buy from.

Nothing good to say about Holmwoods now.



They are quite expensive as I've found out from having multiple visits. Not only are they expensive, they are also terrible with owning up to their own mistakes.



A friend of mine visited to ask for free swatch samples, which they were actually kind enough to part with. She took them and left. About a month later, she comes back and asks if there are any other swatches available. They tell her that a) the swatch sample book that she took (in front of them, mind you) was not meant to be taken and b) THREATENED to call the cops to accuse her of shoplifting if she did not pay for it.



She drove over half an hour back home, got the swatch book, and came back to return it. After getting it back, they proceeded to BROWBEAT her until she paid the $60 for the swatch book THAT SHE RETURNED.



Holmwoods on Rt. 108 Somersworth deserves no one's business. One simple little mistake on their part and they browbeat and THREATEN people into paying them money for NOTHING. If this is what they do to potential customers, it would be interesting to note what they will do for actual customers (aside from ripping them off initially).
