Earthworm has a long history in the recycling movement. Founded on Earth Day in 1970 as the Recycling Revolutionary Co-op, the goals of this early venture were to demonstrate the viability of recycling by operating a self-sufficient enterprise, to save natural resources and to create a non-hierarchical work place. We began by collecting office waste paper from commercial, governmental and non-profit offices in the greater Boston area.Renamed Earthworm, Inc in 1974, we formally recognized the overwhelming need for public education on recycling and earned non-profit status as an educational organization. In 1987, we responded to the growing need for technical assistance to public recycling projects by providing consulting services. In 1990, Earthworm further expanded its services to close the loop by offering recycled products to its customers. Today, Earthworm remains a successful, self-supported, non-profit office recycling service as well as a community resource and advocate for recycling and sensible solid waste management.Since 1970, Earthworm has worked with Boston area companies to design, implement and maintain office paper recycling programs. Earthworm is reliable and dependable ; with a name like Earthworm you have to be!We offer excellent office recycling services. We sell high quality recycled office paper which helps to stimulate the market for recycled materials.
