My 15-year-old son has been attending Star Studio for 2.5 years and loves it. We could never get him to stick with a sport before he started here. He is very motivated by Master Ben. As a parent, I love that he is learning discipline, respect, and good morals in addition to the obvious other benefits of martial arts (flexibility, coordination, self defense, confidence, etc.) Master Ben has very high standards, but he is fair and really cares about his students. I enjoy watching my son improve on a weekly basis.

Our boys have been at star studios for 3 years now. They've learned so much and we love all aspects of martial arts. Although the fighting art and self defense in itself is a great learning experience, there is more to it that we have admired and loved. This training has instilled confidence, responsibility, and self discipline in our kiddos. Master Ben is always punctual and thorough in his teaching. We appreciate star studios and highly recommend!

My children have been working with Master *** at Star Studios for 2 years now and we couldn't be happier. Master *** is an amazing instructor who focuses on more than just martial arts. Responsibility, respect, self control, and confidence are just some of the qualities Master *** instills in his students. The studio is always clean and well lit, so it is a comfortable place for my children to learn and our family to watch them grow. All of the instructors are very helpful and make Star Studios feel like a family. I highly recommend Star Studios to anyone interested in self defence.

Amazing school! We have been attending for over a year and a half and have nothing but positive comments about the school and the teachers. The studio is always very clean. They don't just teach Karate, they also teach self discipline and encourage the students to always do their best.

Went as a teenager and had a wonderful experience. Went to learn karate and ended up also learning life lessons. Now my daughter is joining and is also having a great experience.

My 7-year-old is thriving under Master Ben's instruction. He is less defiant, his performance is improving in school, and he is motivated to excel. He has been a student since the spring of 2021 and began with an introductory course through the Beloit, WI Stateline YMCA. He has now added 1-2 classes per week at the South Beloit, IL location and has attended one of the monthly boot camps. He is even teaching me to count the way Master Ben counts and the stretches they do before lessons. I could not have hoped for a better outcome since I believed my son would give up on the class in a few weeks.

I knew of this studio growing up here in town, and always heard good. When my son wanted to try Martial Arts, I knew this would be the place. Fast fwd 3 years and he loves it. Master Ben does an excellent job with his students (from young to old). He offers a variety of classes that are very well laid out. Coming from a military/law enforcement family, I appreciate his teachings of discipline/ self motivation and believing in themselves. I highly recommend anyone who is considering self defense for themselves or their children to check out Star Studio in South Beloit.

My son has been attending star studios for a little over a year and he really enjoys going. Master Ben is great with the kids he not only teaches them about honor and respect he also reminds them how important it is to get good grades in school. You can tell he sincerely wants them to succeed.

This place is the best in the area and very inexpensive.

My son has been going here for a year and a half. He has grown so much! He has alot more confidence and really enjoys going. Yes, it costs money and yes you have to pay for belt and stripe testing and yes you have to pay for special workshops BUT when you factor in the price for the classes and compare that to other studios, it really is reasonable. Plus you can go more than once a week. The instructors are patient HOWEVER no, they wont baby your kid. They learn to do what is asked ( plus they teach that goes for home too) . The classes are for children or adults of any age. And if you are an adult that may have some health issues they will work with you. They currently have a student who is 70 and he is awesome! I wish some of his. "youngness"would rub off on others! Would recommend to anyone.

Star Studio is Awesome! Master Ben teaches students about honor, respect, and most important confidence. Master Ben is very patient with his students and is dedicated to his class. He's very excited about hearing about his students grades and teaches his class with good discipline. My son has been with Star Studio for 4 years now and will continue to grow here. Its changed his life and made him into and great well mattered discipline young man with amazing talent. Thanks to Master Ben and his staff. Master Ben classes keeps you motivated and reaching for your goal to become better with life skills. I would highly recommend everyone to join Star Studio. You wont be disappointed. Very disappointed with instruction here. Brought my child in to try class. Having made it to a third degree black belt myself it was very obvious that what they are teaching is not what they advertise. The instructor has no true lineage of his own certification. He claims to hold an 8th degree black belt but has no grand master instructor above him.

Worst school in the area. The owner is manipulative and rude. He cares for his pockets more than anything else. The contract you sign is impossible to get out of without stopping payment through your bank. After it has expired he automatically renews it without permission. Even if you no longer attend classes.

My grandchild loves coming here. She has gained so much confidence and that is needed in a child. Thank you Master Ben and assistants from the bottom of my heart!!!

I've been a part of this place for many years and I am happy that I now have my child involved with it.

I'm not sure the person who left this disparaging review actually went to this school. It is fantastic. Master Ben does a great job working with my two children.

I would recommend this school to everyone.
