Established in 1951, the Perley Primary Center serves students in kindergarten through grade four. Its staff includes classroom and resource teachers, instructional assistants, Title I instructors, specialists, paraprofessionals, social workers and maintenance employees. The center offers a range of student programs in art, music and physical education. The Perley Primary Center also offers medical care, speech pathology and guidance counseling services to students. In addition, the center conducts sessions in bilingual education and provides special education to students with special needs. Located in South Bend, Ind., the Perley Primary Center is a part of South Bend Community School Corporation, which operates several high schools and primary and intermediate centers.
