Provided by YPmobileFirst the address given to us was wrong. Heard one of the waiters curse seeing an elderly couple sit in his assigned area. Later, once seated, found a live cockroach on the table near the salt and pepper. Told the manager and she said that was normal showing us a notebook telling us they are paying for pest control and they have to come out. Good food but definitely wouldn't come back again.

Provided by YP.comTHIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!!! We have been going every week since they first opened! The staff is very friendly and is there to take your plates and get your drinks constantly! They are constantly bringing out fresh made food. We have never seen any bugs! The oysters are huge and the u-peel shrimp is the best! The salad dressings are NOT in bottles! Just because the name is Ocean Buffet doesn't mean it has to have Everything from the ocean!! Haven't you been in a steak house that serves Fish??? You have a chance to take a look at the buffet if you just ask before you buy ! And if you seen the kitchen of most restaurants ---you would NEVER eat out!!

Provided by YP.comEasily the best Buffet in Town. I have no idea how people hated this with all of the stuff they had to offer.
Last time I was there, they didn't have Sesame Balls made (Its a desert thing). This little Chinese lady who didn't speak very good English and was only a janitor asked me if she could help, and she went and had them made just for me. I am definitely going back.

Provided by YP.comEverything about Ocean Buffet in South Daytona is great. The waiters/waitresses are always filling glasses, offering assistance. Sushi is wonderful! The price is extremely low for the quality of food and service. I recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Provided by YP.comThe sushi is amazing! They have many different kinds, all of which were delicious. The atmosphere is comfortable. The music is blended. All the food is the freshest for a buffet I've ever seen. Definitely going back!

Provided by YP.comI already told all my friends and now I am telling you how great this place was. I don't know where the others ate, who wrote bad things about this place on the reviews. But, I don't think it was here. Where Whistle Junction used to be. It was the bomb. One of the best places I have been to in a long time. Plenty of seating. Prices are fair. The huge variety of food to pick from was astonishing. Between the sushi bar, the seafood bar, Chinese bar, salad bar, dessert bar and there is the hibachi bar. Just way too much to eat at one seating. Can't wait to go back again and try some other food I didn't get the first time around. And there were no bottled dressings at the salad bar. The food was hot and fresh and all of the pans were always full. The staff was polite and friendly and were right there to take your plates away and to fill your glass. Thanks for all your hard work and providing us with a beautiful place to eat.

Provided by YP.comBrought my family to the Ocean Buffet for lunch and was a little skeptical after reading a few bad reviews, although my friends raved about it. Don't let the exterior and the landscaping scare you away. We opened the doors and it smelled wonderful inside. They did a great job converting the old "Whistle Junction, " and creating a nice tranquil asian atmosphere, complete with a waterfalls and bamboo. Now to the dining experience. The selection was amazing. Many chinese standards, (Egg Foo Young, General Tso Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, etc.) but also some great baked and fried fish, fresh muscles, peel and eat shrimp, octopus, crab, clams. There were many fresh salads to choose from, There were a few italian pasta dishes and pizza, too. There was a full sushi bar, with every kind of sushi imaginable. I will have to check it out next time, as I was too full to partake this trip. But my favorite is the hibachi grill. I selected steak, lo mein noodles, peppers, onions, 2 kinds of mushrooms, broccoli, (and these are just a few of the choices) and they grilled it up right in front of me, adding some teriyaki and special house sauce. It was so very good and so very fresh. I would have gone back to try some new concoctions, but my children were begging me to scoop them some ice cream (from the 6 flavors) . We all very much enjoyed it and will be back. My family of 5 ate for under $19 with a coupon. All I can do to respond to those who left bad reviews is that it is obvious that the folks at Ocean's Buffet got their act together since then. (and I sat at that same table near the kitchen, and it was not a big deal nor a problem...workers were barely noticeable). We went for lunch on a Thursday at about 12:30 and the place was pretty crowded.

Provided by YP.comThis was the WORSE DINNING experience of my entire life!
With a name like Ocean Buffet, the very last thing I expected was a Chinese place! Yes, Chinese! The restaurant that use to be in that building was called Whistle Stop Junction and they had a good salad bar but Ocean Buffets salad bar amounts to 3 types of lettuce and some sunflower seeds! Oh, almost forgot, the dressing was in bottles direct from WalMart! No Joke, still had the "Great Value" labels on!
Now just when you thought it couldn't get worse it did! I was there at 4:15PM, not very busy. Less than 25% of the booths were filled. The "Hostess" sat me right in front of the door to the dishwasher room! The only view I had was watching the girls scrape the food scraps off other peoples plates! Not only that, but at times they were talking to each other very loud and of course they were not speaking English.
My plan upon leaving was to wait for the hostess to ask how my meal was while I was paying. However she was too busy talking to several other people and could care less about me other than taking my $12.00! So, since they really didn’t care about my dinning experience I thought I would share it with the entire world.
Save your money, the food was only a “C” at best, service & dinning experience was a well earned “F”.
