I am a real fan of Panera Bread, but not this one. I am a once a week visitor, and freqluent travelor who has visited Panera Breads all over the country....but this newly opened site is not ready for prime time. Called ahead for a $20 take-out order to join the Christmas tree cookies I planned to order for my 1 and 3 year old grandkids after arriving there with our Christmas tree tied to the top of our car. Arrived 20 minutes after they said the order would be ready. Waited in line to pay. Order had not been even started. Returned to the car and started home. Checked the order. Totally wrong order. Returned to the restaurant. Left little ones in car with a relative. Waited in line again for order to be redone. They told me they were tossing the order given to me. So I asked if they would give it to me since it would otherwise be wasted. They would not. Given that they botched my order and caused a long wait, giving me that botched order would have cost them nothing. They could have at least given me an extra cookie. Instead they lost a patron who was trying to transfer my loyalty after they closed the Van Aken restaurant 5 minutes from my home. Hope they learn that customer service is everything.
