Family Medicine Associates in South Hamilton, MA has lost my business! I've been going to them now for two years for my annual physicals and when I've been sick with the flu et cettera. I recently went for my annual physical in July 2011. Their Nurse Practitioner, Eileen took care of me. Nearing the end of my physical, I asked her about my minor carpel tunnel in my wrists, and asked her any preventive methods I could take in order to not exasperate my carpel tunnel in my wrists. (I'm an Insurance Agent so I work at my desk and use the computer all the time). I get my bill, and I'm billed $33.00...!!! My annual physical is supposed to be free! So I call the billing department, and I was informed that "any questions outside of the annual physical could be billed separately." EXCUSE ME?!?!!



I'm 24 years old and in good health. So I'm billed, because I asked a question about my wrists that was considered outside the annual physical..?!? What is an annual physical...it's to check up and follow up on my general health. It's preventive care. I was being proactive and I'm billed. So what questions can I ask that's in their special database to where I won't be billed and within the genre of an annual physical. $33.00 isn't much, however, it's the principle of the matter! Now I"m afraid to ask questions, which is wrong. I should feel free to ask questions for my nurse or doctor! I don't trust Family Medicine Associates, and I intend to take my business elsewhere. Moreover, I would have given them zero stars if I could. My landlady was looking for a different provider, and I informed her of the recent events, and she does not intend to go to Family Medicine Associates. They've lost my business, and future business with my friends and acquaintances.
