Talk about a sour taste in your mouth after dealing with a dealership.

I made contact with the Finance Manger (Crystal) at 10:15am this morning. I wanted to ensure that I was the first person to talk to them after seeing an ad for a 2007 CBR1000rr on a local classified site (ksl.com). I submitted my application and was told that I would get a call back when a credit decision was made.

After a couple of hours a sells person (Josh) called me and asked if I would drive down to look at the bike. He said that the bike had been traded in the day before and wanted to make sure I would get it.

Because I have been looking for the right bike at the right price, for about a month, I knew that he was lying to me. I had seen this same bike multiple times before, just priced at a higher amount. I knew the bike was nice, but the price was outside of what I was willing to pay, so it was always printed out but ended up in my "maybe" pile. I did not call Josh on this though, there was nothing for me to gain.

I politely told Josh that I knew my credit was not stellar, and that because it was 60miles one way, I wanted to know that I would be riding off in to the sunset rather than kicking myself for the hour long drive home. He said that he understood, and would make sure that I would get a call back as soon as they knew one way or the other.

After a few more hours of waiting, and time approaching the point of no return (past the time I could leave my house and make it there before closing time), I called the dealership and asked for the status of the application. Crystal told me that the application was denied and I would have to talk with my bank for information. When I called my bank, they informed me that the application had indeed been denied for the requested amount ($7000 on a bike advertised for $4800) HOURS before and the dealership acknowledged the decline 3 hours earlier.

I called Crystal back to ask what had happened and why I had not been informed earlier. She side stepped the question and informed me that as we spoke someone else was ridding away on the bike I had wanted and that she would be happy to locate a newer, much more expensive bike for me.

No I get that cash is king, and that my application was denied, however, no one at the dealer went to bat for me with the bank as is typical, they did not try another bank, nothing. This is truly not the way to run a dealership. I can promise that I will never buy a bike from this dealership in the future, nor would I recommend them. I suppose if you knew what you were buying, and had cash in hand, they may only slightly rip you off, but I would rather go to Newgate Power Sports or go private party.

I was told on the phone by the sales manager, Ryan, that he could give me the best price around on a honda atv/utv because he was "powerhouse dealer". This was also his excuse for not quoting me anything other than MSRP over the phone. He said Honda gave them deals that they didn't give to other dealers because of their status as a "powerhouse". It was clearly a ploy to get the customer into the door and use further sales tactics. I fell for it and wasted a fair amount of my time just to be told that their UTV's are the hottest thing around and they wouldn't budge off the MSRP. Ryan then told me that it was LESS EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE THE CUSTOMER THAN THE UTV! He obviously doesn't understand the idea of repeat customers. Instead he tells me that in the future if i have a hybrid UTV that his dealership will be the only place withing three states to have it serviced. This guy is out to lunch and I can't believe he's in the position he's in. I'm not buying a Honda Prius and really don't feel like I'm the one missing out, as he seems to think.

FWIW, I called a dealer 20 minutes away, Monarch Honda, and they gave me an out the door price that beat Honda World over the phone and even came off of that number by a fair amount. I will be headed down there next weekend to pickup my new ride. Best part is that they are happy to sell me the vehicle and will get my return business next year when I get a Honda Foreman.

Awesome staff

My spouse bought a motorcycle from Honda World a couple of months ago. We have been really impressed with the entire experience. Even after the purchase they remember both of our names and always greet us with a smile. We are building a cabin and decided to buy a generator, a Honda of course because they are the best. We could have gone anywhere but chose to buy it from Honda World because of our positive experience. I would highly recommend this business to anyone looking to buy Honda motorcycles, accessories or power equipment.

Service sucks and is too expensive

Took two of my Honda ATV's in to have serviced, with one I was having an over heating problem. The red overheat light would come on about 20 minutes into a ride, I'd have to turn off the engine and let it cool down. Our 2nd ATV would tend to stall when going down hill, no problems starting or climbing, but when going downhill it would stall.I took both of these 2002 machines in to have them looked at and given a 'premium' tune up. Well a couple of weeks later and $900 lighter in my pocket I pick them up. I'm given some line about 'well there was some leaves in the radiator' that led to over heating. And we adjusted the carb so it won't stall anymore. I took their word for it and took them home. About 2 to 3 weeks later my wife decides to take one out for a spin. Lo and behold the one that stalled out going down hills now can't even stay running long enough to take it for a ride. It went from not having a running problem to not even being able to run. So she tries to take the other ATV out and double lo and behold, it over heats just like we told them it did. So, I email Jayson and tell him the problem. He is very apologetic and wants to correct the problems. I am thinking great it will get taken care of, of course it a pain in my butt to have to haul them back up to Sandy and waste my time doing so, during their not too convenient to me hours, but I do it.After a few days I get a call saying that the whole problem is that they were jetted wrong. In fact they were jetted for 6500+ ft altitude. That is the problem. Really?!? We've been riding these things for almost 10 years with no problems till now and they have been jetted wrong this whole time. Needless to say I found that hard to believe. But what do I know, I am not a mechanic. So over the course of a few months we end up getting them back (finding a time that met my scheduled and their open times was a bit rough) and now my wallet is $400 lighter. We really haven't been riding yet, but at least the one that was stalling isn't, but the one that over heats, which for some reason they could never replicate, OVERHEATED right outside my garage idling while I moved stuff around. This is ridiculous!! I am NEVER going back to Honda World again and I would warn everyone that A) They are too expensive for service and B) They can't fix it right the first or second times!

Honda Lawn mower

Bought a Honda Lawn mower appr 1 1/2 years ago at Home Depot, having small problems last summer starting it, but diduse it all summer mowing well. This spring I could not get it started. Had Honda World fix it, and was to be ready 4/26/12. Tried to call 2 times with no answer and no phone call from the service dept. I drove down to pick it up. Now I get told it neede a gasket which was not in stock and 5 days to get one. After 2 1/2 weeks at the dealer and another 5 days I thought enough is enough. I decided to take back my mower and have Home Depot farm it out instead. To my suprise after hearing about my bad experience they took my old mower and replaced it with a brand NEW. Kudos to Home Depot

Honda World Rocks-Service Second to None

Honda World is simply amazing. I bought a used 86 Interceptor from a private seller that wasn’t running. Could have been any number of things being a 25 year old bike. I was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to find someone who knew enough about the older technology to service the bike. Jayson Pawlowski, the Service Manager at Honda World, introduced me to Dennis, a Honda World Mechanic who has forgotten more about motorcycle maintenance than most will learn in a lifetime. Within a week, Dennis had the old Interceptor running like new, and this is NO exaggeration. Dennis is truly a Jedi Master when it comes to bikes. It is obvious that he loves what he does and that he takes great pride in his work. For the best service on the planet, head to Honda World. You won’t be disappointed. These guys are GREAT. Considering the gravity of what’s at stake when I ride, I have real confidence putting my bike and my life in the hands of the best. I won’t go anywhere else. Bill

Best shop in town

I love how clean and modern the store is. Owning 3 Honda motorcycles I need to know that when I take them in to get service they are going to be working great when I pick them up. Honda World has never let me down. I love knowing that if I ever need a part or filter or o-ring it is just a quick stop to the parts counter and I'm on my way. The staff is beyond knowledgeable- I can say- "time for an oil change on my CRF 450 and Brian at the parts counter will have everything I need for the job in under 10 seconds. Thanks Honda World for keeping my bikes going! I'll never go anywhere else.

Bad Service Department

I had a PWC repaired that I needed to take to Lake Powell and it was ready to be picked up a day prior to leaving so I ran up to the lake to verify it was fixed. Turned out to not be any better once I got there after I had paid 800.00 for the service. I called Jason and was told that they were to busy to look at the machine that afternoon and that I would have to wait until the first of the week. 100% acted as if they could care less that I needed to leave for a Lake Powell trip. I would choose any other dealership in Utah or any other state for that matter to do service work before Honda world.

Great

I felt like a million bucks at Honda World. I went in yesterday for a quart of oil and some questions about my CRF and left feeling like these guys really care about customer service! They took tons of time answering my questions and helped me understand a little bit more about my dirtbike.

The extra mile

I was happy with my experience at honda world a couple of nights ago. They helped me find the best fourwheeler to fit my needs and wants. Then I got a ton of help from the guys in the accessories department. They all stayed after hours to help me out. Thanks honda world. You will see me soon for my first service.

DO NOT BUY FROM

I BOUGHT A BIKE AND IT BROKE IN A WEEK, I ALSO STATED I NEEDED A SEAT FOR THE REAR OR THE BIKE and they said they would get one for it and never did, I wanted my payments around 150 a month they came back with payments at $85 they never offered a warranty and rushed me through the whole time. High pressure, and crappy service after they make the sale. apparently their in the customers for a minute business, instead of a lifetime!

I'm telling all my friends about Honda World

I went to Honda World to look at a few new bikes. I left with a 2009 Shadow 750. My salesman Rob spent over 2 hours with me showing me all the different features and options. I never felt pressured or rushed. Crystal in financing got me a great payment! :-) The guys in parts took the time to show me all the different options for my new bike. Thanks guy who rides dirtbikes (I forgot your name, sorry) I'm excited for Honda World's Bike Party's I'll be at the next event, they sound like so much fun! Thanks Again! I still haven't stopped smiling! Marc Cohn

Don't buy from honda world!

I bought a trx450r, the plastics were scratched and discolored. The salesman promised me he would order me a new set free of charge. Well the deal never came threw, no new plastics and crappy service at this place. I recently took my business to plaza cycle and bought a yfz450r and was treated like a king. I've also bought from honda suzuki of slc and was treated really good. Guys please take it upon yourself before dealing with honda world. My trx450r still looks like crap, Thanks honda world! Also if you need service done to your quad go to DT performance there the real honda experts!

Sooo Hapy

Thanks for the help I got in financing my new Honda. I couldn't get any other store to take me seriously because my credit score was not the highest. Crystal got me financed with only $500 down payment and this new Honda has changed my life! I'll tell everyone that this is the best place to get a new bike.

Satisified Customer

I have never had better customer service at any dealership. These guys care about their customers. I'd definantly recommend you try them.
