Provided by YP.comI can't even believe I am writing a review about a therapy office, but I really have appreciated the help I have received during a difficult time. They have been compassionate and caring and always professional. I also liked their willingness to tell me about other resources in the area that could help me and my family.

Provided by YP.comI gave Atlantic Counseling 1 star..if I could have given it none, I would have. I used to be a client there myself, but left the practice when therapists I was seeing left he practice themselves. My stepdaughter has been seeing the same therapist now for years. For her last appt she was late. Not a no show, but late. She was told that she wouldn't be seen and that there would be a $175 charge for a missed appt. Of course as a concerned parent I called and question the outrageous charge and was met on the other line by secretary, biller, office manager. This woman is extremely unprofessional. She is downright rude. She talked over me, lied to me and then to her employer about me and hung up on me. She told me she would have the office manager call me back regarding my concerns. I received no return call. I called the next day and requested to speak with the office manager. Once again I encountered this rude secretary who was now identifying herself as the office manager. She would not allow me to speak with the director. She told me he wasn't there. My husband called back because he could not believe how rude the office manager was to me on the phone. She told him that he was unavailable. He then went forward and left a confidential voicemail for the director...did I say confidential? When the director called back he got my husband's whole message wrong, because he himself did not listen to his Confidential voicemail, but his office manager, biller, secretary had listened to his message and relayed incorrect information to him. She told her boss that we were rude to her and yelling at her which was not the truth. He apparently did not care to listen to any complaints regarding his staff member and proceeded to talk over my husband and tell him he had anger management issues. My husband felt that it was no longer worth discussing this issue with this man who is obviously as obnoxious and as rude as his staff. Needless to say..my stepdaughter is no longer a client, which is upsetting to her as she had created a relationship with her therapist. This is a warning to all current and future Atlantic Counseling clients (if you must)...your CONFIDENTIAL VOICEMAILS left for your individual therapists are not confidential. There office manager is well aware of all of your problems she listens to the messages you leave for your individual therapists and twists the truths. This is a big HIPPA violation!!

Provided by YP.comI am a professional in the community and I often refer people to Atlantic Counseling for therapy. I always hear positive feedback from the people I have sent to this office. I have never heard a single complaint.
The mental health practitioners are experienced and well trained. The administrative staff does a nice job of matching the potential patient with the appropriately trained practitioner.
As far as I know, the policies regarding insurance, patient payments, late cancel fees, etc. are pretty much the same that you find in any private/small group practice.

Provided by YP.comI have been coming here for over a year and would highly recommend it. I had never had counseling before so I was a bit apprehensive. However, it has been a positive experience for me.
I am very comfortable with my therapist and feel she is invested in helping me. She helped me figure out how to deal with some serious situations over the last year.
Once I started to feel better, she gave me the option to meet less frequently. I actually decided to continue to meet every week because I find the appointments to be helpful. They offer weekend and evening appointments too, which works well with mny schedule.
