Provided by YP.comI have no idea why the previous comments were listed. I can say it is unfortunate someone had a poor wedding day experience. I however wonder why they made the appointment one hour before the ceremony and expect to be done on time and it sounds like the person had other issues that might not be related to hair..... Regardless my expereience was much different than that.
! The owner has been highlighting and cutting my hair for seven years and I certainly shopped around before choosing who would touch my hair. I am one of those types that actually blow dries and straightens my hair before going to the beach so I didn't chose easily. One might call me a "fussy" hair person because I always expect my hair to look a certain way. I have never been disappointed nor encountered rude staff at Body Secrets.

Provided by YP.comWhile it's unfortunate that one wedding party had an allegedly unpleasant experience, that shouldn't deter other people from going to Body Secrets. Every single person on the staff is friendly, welcoming and caring. The range of services offered, as well as the gorgeous, relaxing atmosphere, makes Body Secrets a great place to go for some "me time."
Long, angry rants such as the ones posted below are not indicative of a business' true colors. Body Secrets is a wonderful spa and salon, and I would encourage any bridal party to get their hair done there (but to schedule a sensible block of time for updos!)

Provided by YP.comI have been a client of Body Secrets for over 15 years. The Spa and Salon staff is friendly, professional and very caring about the experience you receive. The spa is the cleanest most hygienic I have ever visited. I have recommended Body Secrets to all my friends and family. They value continuing education for the staff; they are up on all the latest techniques and products in the industry. This is a wonderful place to visit for a pampering experience.

Provided by YP.comWho books an appointment 3 hours before their wedding? Sounds like poor planning and trying to put the blame on the solon. Because the bride admitted she didnt want to wear an updo all day. Its your wedding for crying out loud. No one is to blame but the bride. If she talked to staff like she wrote her review, I'm surprised the owner didnt put her out. I have been to Body Secrets quite a few times and the staff is always respectful and my experience has always been great.

Provided by YP.comBody Secrets is not only unprofessional, they are lacking staff, proper customer service and proper etiquette. I have never encountered such poor behavior in a salon in my life, and to top it off, on my wedding day! They are very over priced and it is not even justified by their work that they do. I went to have a trial run on July 21 and they charge 60 dollars, for a trial! During that time I booked my wedding party, (which at the time I booked for three people for 9/7/12). I told the receptionist that my wedding would be starting at 5:30p.m. and I would have to be out no later than 3:30p.m. At first, the receptionist only gave me a 9a.m. appointment. I could not have my girl’s hair or myself with an updo for more that 8 hours, that is ridiculous. So I emailed to change the appointment, and if I could come in for 1:30p.m. Well, to my surprise they apparently booked two other wedding parties and the only time I was offered was 2:30p.m, with it only taking 45 minutes per hair (that is if we were all taken at the same time). At that point, I took it because anything was better then 9a.m. I then emailed a week in advance to add another person whom I had forgotten, I was understanding that this was short notice and I made it CLEAR that if they could not accommodate myself and my bridesmaids that I would find somewhere else. The receptionist called back and said that they were able to get another person, it was fine. So, on 9/7/12 I went to the salon early, got there at 2p.m. (just in case), at that time they were able to take one of my girls. At 2:10p.m. I sat down and the owner started my hair. Their were two other employees still working on two other girls hair (which were not in my party). 2:30p.m. passes and the other employees are still doing the other girls and neither one of my two other bridesmaids have started. I start getting nervous because both girls should have been in the chair by 2:30p.m, I was told that the previous girls walked in late and that is why they were running behind. At this point it is already 3p.m. and one out of the two bridesmaids gets in the chair for her hair, leaving my last bridesmaid still waiting. By 3:30p.m. the other employee finishes with the previous girl, and by this point it was far to late to take my last bridesmaid. Not only was I embarrassed that my bridesmaid was not able to get her hair done, I was embarrassed by the lack of ethical and professional behavior by those employees. The staff there appears like they were in high school and did not know what they were doing. I heard comments from the employees such as, “Can you help me curl”, “I wish I could do hair like the owner”. It was very apparent that they had lack of experience. Not to mention they brought someone who wasn’t even employed to help. Now, my mother is getting involved and talking with the receptionist, who at this point has the audacity to call myself (a customer and on my wedding day) a liar. The receptionist then calls her boss (the owner) and the staff liars that the other bridal parties did come on time, that it was my fault by booking an extra person. Interesting, if that was so, then why wasn’t I told the previous week if that salon could not accommodate. The receptionist gets mouthy with myself and my mother, apparently my mother turned to talk to the owner and the receptionist makes a comment, “Yeah, turn your back”. It is very obvious that these people are uneducated, unprofessional, do not take pride in their customers nor there “career” and my suggestion for the owner is to go and take some training on customer service, business etiquette, time management, hiring experienced staffing, and having them train in all those areas as well. The receptionist and employees became defensive, rude, ignorant, starting talking poorly behind our backs, and left one of my bridesmaid leaving in tears. I am truly disgusted by such ill behavior as a human being.

Provided by YP.comOn September 7, 2012 was my daughter's wedding day - Unfortunately, she made the terrible mistake of booking herself and 3 of her bridemaids with Body Secrets Day Spa and Hair Salon in South Windsor. The appointment was set for 2:30 p.m (with a full description of the lengths of hairs involved) and we needed to be out of the Salon no later than 3:30 p.m. in order to make her own wedding. The girls arrived at 2:00 p.m. and there was intially only 2 employees to do their hair. Needless to say it was a complete disaster - 1 girl was not able to get her hair done and another was only partial done. The grooms sister was left in tears!!!!!! They called in someone who did not even work there to do the Maid of Honor (what real business plans this way). Ultimately, the lack of professionalism, planning, and their inabiity to adequately staff and serve their customers made us late to the wedding and ultimately we had to eliminate some key elements from the reception thanks to one of the most unprofessional businesses I have encounter in all my life. This was my daughter wedding, a once in a lifetime memory, thanks to Body Secrets it is now overshadowed by their incompetence. I will make sure I spread the word to everyone I know not to use this establishment . They contributing to ruining part of my daughter's wedding. Furthermore, they offered no real customer service or retribution to the Bride or her family. She was charged full price and actually I, her mother, was treated with the most disrespect. The uneducated receptionist lacked any ability to provide effective customer service and should not have ever been allowed to work with the public. Furthermore, the owner chose to walk away from the Mother of Bride who by the way was paying the bill!!!!! Shame on your business - You should remove your bridal package as you offer nothing but heartache. I have a gift certificate to go there but this will NEVER EVER TAKE PLACE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!
