The first Waffle House restaurant was opened on Labor Day in 1955 in Avondale Estates, Ga. Since then, it has grown into a chain of more than 1,500 company and franchise-owned casual restaurants in over 25 U.S. states. It serves a variety of waffles, steaks, omelets, hamburgers, country ham, pork chops and grits. The restaurant serves specialty dishes, such as Bert's chili, Walt s soup, Alice s iced tea and Lib's patty melt. It offers hash browns in eight different ways. Waffle House serves more than 3 million pounds of grits each year and over 10,000 T-bone steaks each day. Apart from serving food, the restaurant supports various health and human service organizations, youth and education programs, and disadvantage and other civic causes. It conducts in-house events and programs, such as The Great Miller Lite Chili Cook-off and the Waffle House World Waffle Eating Championship.

Been coming to this Waffle House for many years. Lately I’ve noticed some cooks not wearing hair nets or hats. Watched a waitress clearing tables and dumped contents into the trash and reached for a plate she dropped. Didn’t wash her hands and continued to serve breakfast to customers. Fortunately I already had my breakfast. Not sure if management has changed or they no longer enforce practical cleanliness standards. Disappointed!

The employees at Waffle House are truly underappreciated People really don't know how much it takes to work there the Waitress has so much to learn from the price of everything on the menu to how to call the orders to the cook they have to learn how to make out the tickets and be able to put the price beside each order not to mention that when the store is busy not only the waiting Staff but also the cooks have to remember what order goes where and the cook has to be able to cook multiple orders at the same time I have worked for Waffle House in the past and it is a lot harder than people know so please People be patient and be kind to the WH staff they have so much more to do then they are given credit for
