Operational for more than 75 years, the Southwick Fire Department is a volunteer organization that works to protect and preserve lives and property of residents. It has over 25 volunteer firefighters and nearly 20 on-call emergency medical technicians. The department employs honor guards who represent the department for special occasions, such as parades, ceremonies and funerals. The Southwick Fire Department conducts inspections of assembly group occupancies and offers various employment applications for residents. Its fleet of apparatus includes engines, ladders, towers, and rescue and utility vans. The department also provides burning permits and offers information regarding fire prevention.
