I was aggressively approached and verbally and physically assaulted by a Discovery Center Childcare Owner. As a full time teacher for the Department of the Army childcare services, I was dismayed at the lack of professionalism and welfare of the children present at the time of the assault. Following this incident, more than likely the parents will not be notified of the neglect for the children’s wellbeing and safety, and unfortunately, If I would have not left the building as willingly as I did, I am not sure how physical the “Owner” would have gotten with me. More importantly, due to witnessing how aggressive the owner was so willing to get with me, there is no telling how common this behavior is and how the staff members are in fact allowed to mishandle the children at this facility. Hopefully, this matter will be perused to the highest Chain OF Command and hopefully some sort of investigation is done to ensure the safety of the children at the Discovery Center Childcare.
