I left this office after getting fed up by Dr. Watkins horrible bedside manner and continued pushing (each visit!) of a custom teeth-grinding device that will supposedly protect your teeth from you grinding them at night or otherwise. I asked how much it costs and he said $850. Yes, eight-hundred fifty dollars. If I truly do grind my teeth - I don't - then I'd go to Meijers and buy one for $20. According to the rest of my family, he has said this to each of them as well, even my dad. Thing is, my dad snores like a horse all night long, every single night - his mouth is open the whole time! There's NO way he grinds his teeth! Dr. Watkins must have an AWFUL lot of these things in the back room that he bought b/c he's trying to pawn them off on everyone.



Also, my dad got work done there last year for a root canal. He went in because one of his teeth was really hurting. Dr. Watkins determined that there were 3 teeth to be worked on - one not bad at all, one so-so, and the one my dad was complaining about. So what does Dr. Watkins do? - he works on the one that's hurting dad the least. Its been a year now and dad's tooth is still hurting cause it never got worked on & its worse! - so he's going to have to pay more for it this time around. Oh, and the root canal on the tooth he did do didn't work. Trying to get dad to switch dentists. This guy is a money-hungry, extremely dishonest swindler who does substandard work and doesn't do what you ask - keeps you in pain - and ultimately makes you pay a lot more than you should. Avoid him at all costs! He is NOT the only dentist in the area - there are plenty more in Grand Rapids and the greater Grand Rapids area who are good honest business people who actually care about you, and not just themselves.

My wife always has spoken very highly about Dr. Watkins' service and staff. There was a day when she chipped her front tooth and wouldn't even show me or anyone else. Fortunately, Dr. Watkins is a dentist that puts his patients first. His staff got her in that same day without an appointment and took care of her. Quality of work perfect!



Today was my turn for an emergency and once again Dr. Watkins showed compassion by coming in to help me on his day off. I was in pain and left comfortable and thankful to have found a one of a kind dentist. Good dentistry is hard to come by today. I can assure you that Dr. Watkins will make going to the dentist as pleasant as can be.

I've gone to this dentist since he started his practice. He has a great "bedside manner," he makes going to the dentist fun! Excellent service--I actually fell asleep during a root canal. They are definitely top on my list of providers, and I'm always referring people to them.

Friends and family have told me to avoid this practice. Have been told the Dr. here is not very professional.
