I HATE dentists. HATE - HATE...

I HATE dentists. HATE - HATE- HATE. So much so, that when my life long dentist retired in 1995 - I stopped having ANY kind of dental work done. I have absolutely made myself sick over the prospect of having to get some much needed dental work done and spent the last couple of years looking for a "perfect fit". I did not want to go. I was embarrassed at the amount of work I needed to have done. I was scared that it would be painful -- and the list goes on. FINALLY, I forced myself to just do it. I called a million offices looking for "the right fit".



There were many offices that had the services I was looking for - but none that were willing to take the time to explain things to me. From the moment I called Dana Dental - they listens to my questions. They answered my questions and went beyond that to help me find more information that I was looking for -- Beyond that, taking the time to ask ME the questions to make sure that they were doing whatever they could to better meet my needs.



Prior to my appointment, they called to make sure that I had everything I needed and to remind me of the pending appointment. The morning of the appointment, when the Doctor was running 20 minutes late, they called me and let me know so that I didn't have to wait when I arrived at the office. When I arrived, I was greeted by name - by EVERY staff member in the front office area. The office was very welcoming and current! (No ladies home journals!) Which didn't really matter, as I was back in the exam room within minutes....Where the assistant spent well over an hour with me doing ex ray's, exams, and gathering information before she went and got the Doctor who came in and spent 30+ minutes doing the same.....in addition to discussing with me my options and what the next steps would be. She took ALL of the time I needed --



As part of the treatment plan, I needed to make an appointment with another office for a consult. They were going to schedule this with the other office and let me know when.....Before I was out the door, that office was calling my cell phone to make that appointment for the end of the week. To top it all off, they handed me a Starbucks Card...... Seriously.



This morning they called to get me in on Monday when they had a cancellation -- and to tell me to have a safe trip this weekend when I go home to see my family.



In addition to the great experience I have had -- I also was able to witness a few "day-to-day" operation that I loved! Including the way the staff interacted with each other and with their staff. Little things, like not saying patient names out loud in front of other patients (I know this is a HIPPA issue - but I also know that it is violated ALL of the time) to the way I witnessed a staff member deal with a patient who was upset over a billing issue and was taking it out (in a not very kind way) on this person. She handled it in a VERY professional way -- all while showing the upset patient respect.



All of these things combined have convinced me that Dana Dental is my new Dental Home. Although I can't say I am looking FORWARD to my next visit -- I can say that I am looking forward to working with this office and the people in it -- and I truly believe that I am not just another name in a schedule book to this office. I am a person - and I matter. THIS is the kind of place that deserves my business, and hopefully they won't be retiring for a VERY long time.....

I went to another dentist and ...

I went to another dentist and found out crowns they had done were done poorly and I had to have them done again. Then you charge me $20 for my records. Hello they are my records and the 10 years I went to your office and the thousands of dollars I have spent have paid for my records a hundred times over. These guys are so busy they do not take their time with patients and run it like a factory and do not care about you. They care about money.

A family enterprise

Several different family members are part of this dental consortium. The work is cutting edge (3 d xray to get an excellent view of your teeth.) I had an excellent hygienist named Irene, who, alas, is not there any more.

When I was going out of the country for 9 months, Dr. Brad made an excellent decision about a questionable crown and fitted me with a bridge that would be more stable. For 7 years he did a great job maintaining my teeth.



I thought the charges were somewhat high, but, if you're in a job where people are looking at you all day, you want to look your best. And, you have to keep your teeth healthy if you want to stay healthy.
