While trying to get gas and air in the tires with my two-year-old, I put the .50 required to start the air machine. The machine took my money, no biggie right. So, I went in and spoke to “Jeanie”. I explained how the machine took my 2 quarters and before I could even finish the sentence, she interrupted defensively stating they don’t give money to outdoor machines. Taken aback I just said I needed the machine to work and asked if she could help. Her response, “usually people put nickels in there.” I was so confused. I just said again, “well I put two quarters in and just need the machine to work, could you help?” Her response, “the machine works fine.” Shocked, I stayed calm (even though truly upset) and asked if she could try to get it to work. Her response, “no”. I made sure to get her name, and the owner’s name, Eric. Without even getting an insincere apology, I did not end up getting gas there and went on my way to another gas station close by. We have way too many options in Spokane for getting a basic service like gas and air. Many people want to provide quality service in their small businesses in our neighborhood and I can’t wait until this gas station goes out of business so a quality business can move in.
