Yes, I am a real (potential) customer, but luckily I cancelled my appointment before they came out and charged me $50.00 just to get a quote on the work I need done. Walmart vs. Nordstrom....Please! This company thinks a little too highly of themselves. I am not saying that they aren't good but I am saying that there are other company's on par with them that actually want my business. The service manager that I spoke to on the phone told me to read their reviews. She must have been talking about the testimonials on their own website, because I know 2.5 stars on Yelp and Google is not favorable. I don't remember the last time I went to the grocery store and had to pay to find out how much the Haagen Dazs was before agreeing to buy it instead of Ben and Jerry's. Oh, wait!...It hasn't happened. As far as I am concerned If you want my business and feel so confident that you are as reasonably priced as you say you are, you wouldn't have to charge me a fee to find out because there would be no doubt in your mind that I would choose you to do my work. I wouldn't mind an additional $50.00 tacked on to the price if I elect to use your services, but just for a quote....waste of my money. Good luck getting new customers with that business model; repeat business is all you will get.

Provided by YP.comThese clowns wanted almost $400 to add an outlet 1 foot off my breaker box charged me $50 for that estimate. I had it done thru their competitor for $132 this place is a overpriced quote scam company will never be calling this rip off company EVER!!!!!

Provided by YP.comBe forewarned, this company charges $50 just to give a ridiculously high quote for work. The quote they recently gave me was 1/3 to 1/2 higher than the other three I got, and I wouldn't have had them come out at all if I had understood the charge ahead of time.
Dear Rathdrum77, We at Mainstream Electric are disappointed to find your unhappiness re: the $49 dispatch fee, which was disclosed up-front prior to you choosing to schedule an appt. Like with all things, there are 2 sides to every story. In addition, compare jeans sold at Nordstrom vs jeans sold at Walmart. Because the price is higher at Nordstrom, does that mean that "they are ridiculously high?" Like with all retail services, there are different business models & pricing. I can't explain why your other 3 bids were far less; however, I do know that we know the cost of doing business & that you had a drug-free, background checked, uniformed, professionally trained licensed journeyman electrician arrive at your home within a guaranteed 2-hour appt window, we called 20 minutes prior to the technician's arrival. Also, that electrician's van is stocked with many parts & tools, so he could have performed the work right then & there upon your approval. Again, you were given a choice. Once the work was complete, we back our work with warranties & guaranties. Our employees at Mainstream Electric are also paid well and receive full benefit packages; we refuse to profit off the back of our employees. I have to ask how do other companies do FREE estimates? Your response is done online anonymously. How do we even know you're a 'real' customer? After EVERY single service, we perform what's called a "happy check." Our client care representative would have asked you two questions: 1. did your electrician from Mainstream Electric provide outstanding service? 2. are you 100% satisfied with the service call? Without knowing who you are, in all fairness, how can a company resolve your frustration when there was no direct communication but is venting behind a computer? One more thing ... 65% of Mainstream Electric's business for many years in a row comes from REPEAT business. This tells you that the thousands of clients we serve on an annual basis are satisfied with our employees, our service, our pricing, our workmanship ... they keep having us back!!
