Sweet Communion

It is with pleasure that you can find a place of quiet rest. The Cedine experience for me began with a group of youth at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Woodlawn,Oh 45215. Under the leadership of it's youth Pastor Robert Harper I volunteered to assist as we for the first time took the youth to bible camp.

I admit that I was reluctant at first, but as that week in Bible Camp progressed I found myself becoming involved in the areas I had no idea I would. Those areas being; Cabin counselor, assistant riflery instructor. I was thrust into a realm that was out of my comfort zone ( Isn't God awesome) and as a result "gave" of my self so that others would benefit. (Sounds like what Christ did for us). All through the week were activities, ( canoeing, horseback riding, riflery, archery, swimming, basketball, softball, etc. that were enhanced with bible study. "What a recipe for success". Then at then end of each day kids along with their age group would return to their respective cabins with their counselors and have a closed caption of the day. Many would give their lives to Christ as a result. ( Hallelujah). What was so memorable about the whole week was it's culmination by a camp fire on a clear starry night. Testimonies about the whole week would be shared by everyone who attended camp..some would break down and cry knowing that they would have to end this glorious time they experienced at Cedine and have to return to the reality the faced going back home, (Whatever that entailed). What made me fall in love with Cedine was their unwavering committment to the African American community. Their rich "legacy" has touched countless lives through the years at Cedine. To top if off was the environment that Cedine was located in. It was by no mistake that God in his infinite wisdom chose Watts Bar Lake to begin this wonderful ministry. It's forestry and fresh air is an invitation itself to an encounter with God I have never forgotten.

I'm currently planning a visit back two a couple's ministry along with another couple I shared my experience with when visiting Cedine.

Well I could share alot more but in the confinement of time as we know it I have to close with these words.

If you want to experience "real" relationship, you have to experience "Cedine" Cedars and Pines!
