What Natalie C. says above is true. I opened a Student Checking account for my daughter. I am the co-applicant on the account. After the initial small deposit made to open the account, we used Mobile Deposit to add a check drawn on my account at First Tennessee to her funds. Fifth Third placed a 10 day hold on my local check for less than $1,000 because the Fifth Third account was "new". Really? If I was just moving to the area and it was more than just a kid's account, this would be a serious inconvenience. Moreover, they provided a total of 3 pre-printed courtesy checks for her, but they had a wrong account number on them. This created issues with her employer's Direct Deposit of her paychecks. Lastly, we had ordered third-party checks which had to be re-ordered because of the incorrect account number. It's very hard to be impressed with this bank based on our experience.

I've been a customer with Fifth Third for over 6 years and I couldn't be happier. They've always treated my husband and I with the utmost respect and have given us great advice on how to handle our finances with different life circumstances .... which ended up saving us money. Parker is the best! He's the one who's resolved issues, "held our hand" and helped us like a close friend. This Fifth Third bank has given me hope for banks... they don't treat me like a number. I truly feel like they care. If not, then why would they spend so much time with us?
