The Police Department of the Village of Spring Valley, N.Y., provides life and property protection services. It offers the D.A.R.E Program for children that educates fifth graders in life skills that are necessary to resist the pressures and temptations to experiment with illegal drugs, as well as tobacco and alcohol. The department also has K-9 units that are trained in the fields of narcotics, tracking, building searches, cadaver and patrol duties. The Police Department also has a Sex Offender Unit, which is a part of the Spring Valley Police Detective Bureau. It is staffed with detectives and police officers. The department also provides medical and fire emergency services. The Police Department is located in Spring Valley, N.Y.
