I do not like to write negative reviews but I simply cannot, in good conscience, keep quiet. My experience with Cowherd has been extremely negative. They do not keep their word and were disrespectful and demeaning in their front office on a fairly regular basis. I would encourage you to stay away from this agency.

We have had wonderful experiences in our business dealings with Cowherd Construction. Over the last 20 years these have included new home construction, remodeling, and property repairs/management. It would be difficult to find a company with a better work ethic, or more integrity. HIGHLY recommend!!

NEVER rent from Cowherd Construction. My husband and I rented one of their cheap townhouses on E. Erie and anytime something fell apart (which happened at LEAST once a month because everything was such poor quality), they were extremely rude when we told them about it. They basically blamed us for the issues (air conditioner going out 3 times in one year? dishwasher overflowing onto the carpet the VERY first time we used it?). Whenever they would send a maintenance man (who were always extremely helpful and nice, by the way), they told us that they would get in trouble for replacing the item, and were only able to try to fix it.



The WORST part about renting from Cowherd is that even though the apartment was literally in better shape when we left than when we moved in...they kept $250 of our security deposit! I am a very tidy person who in addition to constant upkeep and improvements, spent approximately 6 hours doing in-depth scrubbing in every room prior to moving out. I wanted to absolutely make sure we got every cent of our deposit back! We called to ask why they didn't give us the full amount back and they basically told us that the kitchen counter was dirty and so they had to bring in a cleaning crew...and that it's pretty standard. We asked to see photos, but they never sent the photos.



We reported them to the BBB, but were told that there is not enough proof that we deserved to keep our security deposit. I STRONGLY suggest staying far far away from this company! SKETCHY!!!

My family rented a home in Republic and paid extra for a short-term 6 month lease. When my wife paid the last months rent, she included a 30 day notice to vacate the premises. Later that month, I called to find out what we needed to do to get the house ready so we could get our deposit back. I was informed by their manager that they did not receive the 30 day notice to vacate the premises. I said that the check was cashed so they had to have received the letter. After numerous discussions, we were informed that they would not honor our 30 day notice and would have to resubmit the notice to vacate the premises.



As this was a mistake of Cowherd Construction Property Management, I felt that I was treated without respect or the dignity to even evaluate the situation as a whole.



Now, they are threatening us with eviction unless we pay this months rent which we told them to take out of the money that they already have.

NEVER, NEVER, rent from this company or consider buying one of their properties.

I agree with the others who posted here! We rented from them and they were very dishonest. We always paid on time and took very good care of our house. When we moved they charged us for things that were absurd! Pet clean up?( we had no pet inour home?) Not to mention the rudeness the entire time. I would not EVER recommend these people! Unless you want to lose a whole lot of money! I would encourage any other unhappy customers to file a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. It is really easy to do online and didn't take me long.

I bought my house from them and it was poorly built, floods with every heavy rain fall, They stalled and then siad warranty was up-- they need to step-up and do right by people who they take hundreds of thousands of dollars from, especially very hard working people who gets their dreams crush when cowherd sells lemons
