Provided by YP.comI want to let others know how professional, yet caring, Good Shepherd Hospice is. Everyone who worked with Larry was genuinely caring and competent. I even received "after care" from the staff with phone calls and even a personal visit (with flowers, no less!) from Andrew, our social worker. This is a wonderful organization for your loved one's end-of-life care.

This is a 2 star update (August 2019) to my 2015 previous 5 star review of Good Shepherd Hospice. While the team was very caring, the way Larry died compared to my cousin who died of pancreatic cancer last year was like night and day. Judy had a different hospice organization who provided her with a nurse three times a week, an oxygen tube in her nose and both oral and pain patch medication. She was literally planning her funeral, talking and enjoying life until the last day. Larry, on the other hand, died in pain. Even though unresponsive at the end he winced in pain when even touched and greatly struggled the last two days of life to get oxygen to his organs. He died a miserable death which was so unnecessary. His nurse visited once a week I think and only mentioned that Larry would become unresponsive at the end, with nothing said about pain or difficulty breathing. Had my husband received the care my cousin had, his end would have been much more tolerable and I would be at peace with that. It still grieves and angers me when I think of the care he didn't have compared to the care my cousin had. I wish I had known that there was a difference in hospice organization care.
