No visit to our 300,000 sq foot flagship store in Springfield, Missouri, is complete without taking time to enjoy an unforgettable meal at this one-of-a-kind dining establishment. Dedicated to Pulitzer and Nobel Prize winning author and accomplished outdoorsman Ernest Hemingway; Hemingway’s décor features authentic photos and memorabilia including a snapshot of Hemingway on the deck of the Pilar where he landed the largest marlin to date in 1935 at 1175#. A lovely mahogany and marble bar formerly a San Francisco barber shop in the late 1800’s surrounds a 30,000 gallon saltwater aquarium overlooking the main dining room. The menu mirrors Papa’s appreciate of the great outdoors featuring signature dishes with duck, bison, catfish, and the ever popular alligator tail. Hemingway’s partners with local farmers and bakers for the freshest highest quality products and features all natural hormone free chicken, grass fed beef, and sustainable fish. Come and dine in an outdoor sportsman’s paradise.

Scallops

Smallest sea scallops I've ever eaten. The size of marbles. It's a shame the food didn't match the prices. Along with poor service.

What Can I Say &

Hemingways is well worth driving quite a distance to experience. Just having a drink at their bar and watching the gigantic aquarium is entertaining. They are famous for their lunch and Sunday brunch buffet. The salad bar alone could be an outstanding lunch. Of course, they specialize in seafood and fish. Being Misssouri natives we are very picky about our catfish and we would prefer they would skin them before they fry them. This is honestly the only complaint we have. I am a Caesar Salad maven and I've never had any better. I believe the dressing is a secret creation of their chef. The dessert bar is sinful! DO NOT GO WITHOUT RESERVATIONS unless you like to wait.

Hemingway's Restaurant

We really enjoy the food at Hemingway's. It is a fun place to take visitors to go through the Bass Pro Shop and then have lunch or dinner after.
