From simple beginnings in 1938, Hiland Dairy has turned its original 50-cow herd into an eight-plant operation in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma. Hiland is headquartered where it was founded in Springfield, Missouri and employs 1,400 people in a four-state area. Since 1979, Hiland Dairy has been a joint venture of Prairie Farms Dairy and Dairy Farmers of America. Hiland Dairy is a full-service dairy that produces yogurt, cottage cheese, half and half, milk, orange juice, sour cream and dips, whipping cream, butter, cheese and ice cream. In addition, all of Hiland s products are quality checked and tested by an independent association. The company has numerous locations, including Springfield, Mo.
