My family leased from Steve Edwards at Property Brokers for a total of 18 months. Shortly after signing our second two year lease we provided them with a medical order/prescription from our children's primary care physician for two service animals, in that both boys had special needs/disabilities. We requested reasonable accomendations and invited Mr. Edwards to come to the home to see how clean it was and to meet the service animals and our boys. He not only refused, but had his employee call us to charge us a 400.00 per animal deposit, followed by another call telling us that the following week our rent would increase by 75.00. His employee did come to the home and stated it was the best kept and cleanest property that Steve owned. We wrote a letter to Mr. Edwards requesting he meet with us, no response. Upon finding a new home to move to, Mr. Edwards called my wife on the phone and attempted to bully her. Keep in mind also that we had never been one day late on rent and we were usually up to a week early. Mr. Edwards said he did not have to allow reasonable accomedations for individuals with disabilities and that no matter what type of service animal an individual had he would not rent to them. BEWARE!! This man also owns studio rentals in Springfield that is FULL OF DRUGS.
