Sadly, I am here to tell of a ...

Sadly, I am here to tell of a bad experience. First, a little about myself and my fiance, we are both owners of BeautyRest mattresses, and I have personally bought from you in the past for my Springfield home and for my Lake House. So we know the importance of supporting a locally owned store and we know what a good mattress is.



We spent over an hour at your store on E. Independence, deciding on what was the best bed for us. I had a queen sized BeautyRest and we needed a King sized mattress. We both like the Firmness of your top of the line "Elm Grove Ultimate Firm" mattress. We ordered that mattress from Gregg Wilson, as well as a frame.



On Friday,Jan. 23, the bed was delivered with the frame. There were several problems we noticed. First, the stitching of the quilting was pulled-up around the edges and several places across the top was missing the quilting. We called about that right away. Gregg Wilson said that this sometimes happened and gets missed by the factory. He said since the bed was under warranty that it could be returned if we thought it would be a problem. Next, we noticed how soft and saggy the bed felt, especially on the right side. The bed felt like the outer wall was broken down. And lastly, after a horrible night's sleep, we notice that the bed had so much "movement", something that should not happen with the individually wrapped coils. We called Greg again to ask about it. He gave us a recommendation to take the feet off the frame, of course that didn't work because the middle support could not be adjusted. So, back to the store to return the frame. When we were in the store, we tested the floor model of the bed that we bought. It was nice and firm, as we had remembered, with no stitching missing.



After several nights of being unsatisfied with our soft saggy mattress, my fiance called to talk to Gregg Wilson. He explained to Gregg that we both had BeautyRest mattresses that we liked and maybe we need to go back to that model. He said you can do that, BUT you are not getting any money back. My fiance was also told that we would have to pay for a return pick-up charge of $50. I was very upset hearing that he was treated so badly. We returned to the store that night, Jan. 27th, 2015, to again test the floor models and to talk with Gregg Wilson. We were again were drawn to the firmness of the "Elm Grove Ultimate Firm", (a little side note, we had requested a replacement of that mattress, but were never informed that it had come in.). After Gregg started to tell me that we needed to give the mattress some time to break it in, that's when I told him, "That's the problem. It's already broken in. It is not firm at all!". Then he changed his demeanor right away. He immediately took us back to the store room and showed us they had a new one, still in the box.



On Jan. 29th the new mattress was delivered. It felt nice and firm, just like the one at the store. We noticed last night that it isn't quite perfect, a whole section across the upper middle is missing the quilting. We would inform Gregg Wilson of that if he ever called us with a follow-up to make sure that the new mattress met our expectations. We are still waiting for that call, as of Feb. 26, 2015.



To make a long story short, we feel as if we were given a "warranty-returned", USED mattress. After dealing with the run around from Gregg Wilson, and getting upset with him at the store, he did get the right mattress sent to us. I do not trust this store anymore, and do not feel like they give good customer service. I did get a response from someone at the BeautyRest Sleep Gallery Facebook site on Wed., Feb. 21st, that I would get a call from someone regarding this experience. I'm still waiting for that call.
