I lived in Woodgate for several years in the 90s. The price was right. I think they might have had the cheapest studio in town at the time. I heard wisecracks on the Missouri State campus 2 or 3 times about Woodgate. One went "I have never lived in Woodgate". In a bragging sort of way. As if only white trash lived there. The only thing wrong wrong with my unit was the carpet was worn out. With a couple of holes. But I was in a cheap apartment. When I asked for something to be fixed, it always was in a timely manner. When I first moved in, the cab driver below me was a light sleeper. And he would bang on his ceiling (my floor) with something. I played music at a normal level. And he called the cops. So I bought headphones. Then when I paid my rent the lady in the office asked me to stop walking around so much. Obviously the old guy was bitchin. I told her that I just paid her $170 for the use of the apartment, and walking on the floor was use of the apartment. She continued, and I dared her to evict me. Apparently since I always paid on time, she didn't want to evict me. And I continued to live there several more years. Only the old cab driver was bitchin. And a few days later, I saw Woodgate employees helping him move to another apartment. And I never heard another word.
