Angelus Academy, founded in 2000 by the Women's Apostolate to Youth, is located in Springfield, Va. It enrolls students from preschool through eight. In each grade, students are exposed to a broad range of historical, scientific and cultural topics to prepare them for later education. This wide array of subject matter develops cultural literacy, and also builds a strong vocabulary necessary for reading comprehension. The school provides a comprehensive education in all core curricular areas and in middle school includes courses, such as English, mathematics, science and American history. It also gives instructions in health and physical education, computer science, Latin and Spanish, art and music. Angelus Academy offers a variety of extracurricular activities, including various sports such as basketball, swimming and volleyball.
