Provided by YP.comI took a cow to Old Plantation for processing. Their facility is not suitable for receiving animals. The floor is very slick concrete. There is no traction control for hoofed animals. Our cow slipped on the wet concrete while unloading and dislocated her hip. The state inspector that was there said state law requires that if the animal can't walk down the chute to the kill floor that the animal can't not be processed. He required the animal be put down. Old Plantation refused to claim the loss on their insurance even though my loss was caused by their conditions. I lost all of the meat, the cow and the 4 months I spent in feeding out this cow. The state even repremanded them and gave them an order to fix the problem. In my opinion these are not reputable people and I will never do business there again. We are now talking to lawyers to remedy the situation.

Provided by YP.comI decided to raise a couple pigs this year for slaughter. I knew nothing to start with! When it came time to find a processor back in Feb. 2011 I went to several processors in the area. Old Plantation folks were very friendly, took the time to show us the coolers, explain the smoking process for the ham and bacan. Even showed me the processing room. (I was impressed by how clean it was!!!) The smoked meat is fantastic and the cuts on the porchchops were pefect. I've never tasted sausage so good... at least not in the last 30 years or so.
Tomarrow, Wednesday, June 8th I am taking 2 more pigs to them so I'll be a repeat customer. This ought to hold me for a year or so and if i decide to raise another pig I know where to take it to get the best deal for the money!!!
