The first time I went in to have my eyes examined for glasses the light blew in the machine so she did it the old fashioned way. They had no new bulbs to put in. I came back to get my new glasses. They weren't the right prescription. I made another appointment. I am here and still waiting a half hour to be seen. My appointment was the first one of the day. They said they don't know what to say. Unbelievable. Not very professional.

I went to Dr. Poulin to have an eye exam at Sanford Family eyecare. I was greated when I came in and was asked to fill out some new paperwork, even though I had seen Dr. Roy in the past. This seemed new to me, but I found it to be very complete in getting my overall health information. I was brought into a room where multiple tests were done, they explained each one to me and why they were important. I even decided to have the Optomap done, which I have to admit was pretty cool. After they did many tests and asked me many detailed questions, I was brought to Dr. Poulin. Although I thought that the staff was very complete, Dr. Poulin still seemed to go over the information, like she just wanted to make sure everything was correct and I didn't have anything more to add, which I actually did. After a very complete exam, Dr. Poulin answered all of my questions with great explanations. Dr. Poulin then brought me out to her staff that helped me pick out some great glasses, they explained to me all the options that you could have on glasses, and I felt like I made good, educated choices on what I wanted for my glasses. Thanks to the staff at Sanford Family Eyecare, look forward to seeing you again next year.

If 0 stars were an option, that is what Sanford Family Eye Care would receive. I had the worst experience here. This business used to be owned by a nice old man, and there was a nice receptionist at the desk. They always asked about my family, and remembered things about me from year to year. Recently I arrived at an appointment 15 minutes late, and the new receptionist refused me service (apparently they only schedule the appointments for 30 minutes, unlike the original owner who actually cared about customer service, and would schedule appointments for one hour). They still charged me as a "no show". The receptionist also mentioned (after much poking and prodding), that I would have to get an eyeglass as well as a contact exam. When I asked her on the phone what the cost would be for the entire visit, she gave me a different answer. I felt that they were dishonest about the price of the visit, and had the worst customer service I have been subject to up to date. The receptionist was snappy and rude. The optometrist looked greasy, and was trying to sell someone a very expensive pair of glasses that would have been 1/3 the price anywhere else. All they care about here is money, not people. If I am going to pay someone for a service, I at least expect them to treat me like a paying customer rather than a nuisance. If the receptionist cannot treat people with a minimal amount of respect she should not be working in customer service. I will never go there again, and advise others not to go there as well.
