Located in Stafford, Va., the Emergency Management Division specializes in providing governmental control and coordination of emergency operations. The division develops and maintains the county's emergency operations plan and provides emergency management planning for the entire county. Additionally, it coordinates emergency management services, programs and activities, including making disaster assistance available to communities, businesses and individuals. The division provides technical assistance for health care facilities that include hospitals, nursing homes, adult living facilities and ambulatory surgical centers. It is a part of the fire and rescue department of Stafford County, Va. The department provides fire, rescue, basic and advanced life support emergency medical services and ambulance transportation to the residents.
