If you need new counter tops and are looking for a top-notch contractor, DONâÂÂT go to Granite Guys in Stamping Ground, KY. They came to my house to measure and make templates for new counter tops and in the process, they broke, made holes and scratched the existing counter tops. I couldnâÂÂt very well turn back at that point. Over a month later they had not given me a price estimate for new tops. They are almost impossible to contact. Their office phone is a cell phone with no voice mail service. The new counter top installation was finally started on a Friday afternoon, 53 days after they measured the kitchen counters. They couldnâÂÂt finish the job the same day so they left with no idea of when they would be back, but had the audacity to ask for final payment - LOL. They came back to finish the job five days later. They do not disconnect or reconnect plumbing to the kitchen sink, so you are on your own for coordinating the plumbing work around their schedule. Expect to be without water in your kitchen for an unknown period of time. They removed but did not replace the cook top and down-draft. The down-draft hole was cut too small and had to be fixed by the plumber/electrician. The down-draft hole was also not correctly centered making it impossible to completely close the counter drawers. They did not re-anchor the dishwasher so that also had to be fixed by the plumber/electrician. They broke and did not replace wall tile. They made a mess with quartz dust in my garage and made no attempt to clean it up. They did not caulk around the top of the back-splash. Thanks to the help of an excellent plumber/electrician I only lost complete use of the kitchen for three days, but I had to live without use of the counter tops for another two days while waiting for Granite Guys to finish the job. It was 58 days from start to finish of this project, and I was left with repairs and finish work to do myself and a kitchen drawer that stays ajar because the down-draft is tilted. This company could do its work for free and it still wouldnâÂÂt be a bargain. I would give Granite Guys a minus zero rating.
