Formed in 1964, The University Area Joint Authority specializes in providing wastewater treatment and water recycling services, to the State College as well as the Centre Region. Located in State College, Pa., it additionally, operates an award winning biosolids composting facility. Being a public organization its structure comprises of the authority board, plant operations and collection systems. The University Area Joint Authority serves its customers throughout the Pennsylvania region along with two other sewer authorities, the College-Harris Joint Authority and the Patton-Ferguson Joint Authority.
