My Rose gold Star of David necklace was stuck in the vacuum cleaner and ripped. My husband bought me a brand new one, a bigger one from Zales, the same store I bought the initial necklace.
Main point is, I came to this store to sell my initial necklace. I knew I wouldn't receive a lot of money because it is 10k rose gold and it cost $250 in Zales. First the man looked at it, checked to make sure it is real gold, and gave me a price, I told him I would be right back. When I came back, not even 5 minutes later, he checked it all over again and tells me that when he scratches the gold it comes off as a funny color , where i proceed to tell him that it is rose gold that's why it has that tint. He tells me he cannot buy it. Also, I made a mistake and said I bought it at Kay jewelers but it was bought at ZAles and then I corrected myself but he was already looking at me oddly. They are very unprofessional. Neither one of the men behind the counter greeted me when I walked in either. If they were legitimate jewlers they would clearly see that the Star of David is 10k rose gold, with champagne diamond and white diamonds. I went to a different store and easily sold the necklace and the people were amazing and friendly.
Do not shop at Band stand, no wonder they are almost always Empty. Terrible rude people and inexperienced jewlers (if that's what you want to call them)

Dropped off a watch to be size...

Dropped off a watch to be sized on 12/31/12. The owner told me the watch would be ready in an hour. I advised him I would be back the following day. However, I returned 2 days later & the watch was not ready. The female clerk behind the counter was of no help & expected me to wait around another hour or come back tomorrow. I asked what the guarantee was that the watch would be ready. She told me "there is no guarantee” I was aghast as to how rude she was & that her answer was not acceptable. She proceeded to say the jeweler was out for 2 days & that if I did not like it to complain or write to her boss!!! That is was not her fault. I advised her that due to her inexperience in customer service & no concern for the stores reputation that I did not accept her answer & that she was rude. The female clerk responded that I was nothing but a- know -it -all old lady & that I was rude. The jeweler kept telling the female clerk to keep quiet …….A moment later I told them to keep the watch & I would be back in an hour as I needed the watch TODAY! I left the store & went to their competitor & told them my story. The owner of that store said they did not do resizing but she would walk me back over to Bandstand & speak to the jeweler which she did & left the store. I continued to search for another jeweler & found one who would size my watch immediately. I returned to Bandstand & asked for my watch back........To my surprise the jeweler cam e out to say that he was working on my watch now. Wow! Evidently, had their competitor not intervened I would have had to wait with around with no guarantee. My point...had the staff been properly trained & had some integrity & cared about the stores reputation they would have accommodated me from the time I walked into the store as it was their error. The jeweler apologized & did not charge me for the inconvenience. The female clerk never looked at me again nor did she apologize. I don’t think I will be back or recommend this store to anyone
