Provided by YP.comThis place is first class all the way! the building may be old and worn looking but the staff is stellar and the care is fantastic! Never a worry since I have left my three year old there and now my 2 month treasure is there as well. I cannot share what peace of mind I have with my sweeties there. The staff is kind and loving and answer all concerns no matter large or small. The place is always clean and the door is always open for unannounced visits. I love the special events and the learning that goes on.

Provided by YP.comMy 14 month old son always comes home clean and happy. Never had any problems with diaper rash. They do great artwork with him. They helped get him up and walking and also helped de-pacifiering him. Definitely recommend!

Provided by YP.comI have to be honest and tell you I have my 4th child in Oakdale Academy, and while I can tell you they might misplace a bib or use a lot of wipes, there isn't another daycare/school I would ever recommend but Oakdale Academy. You can't find a better place for your child if you want them loved and treated like the most important child in the world. When your baby is smiling and clean when you pick him up, or your preschooler runs into the building without looking back, or proudly displays his artwork on the fridge when he gets home, then and only then do you know you found the right place to care for your child when you have to go to work each day. And things just keep getting better, now Oakdale Academy opens at 6:30 so I'm never late for work anymore. Keep up the GREAT job Oakdale, we love you!

Provided by YP.comThis is a dreadful place for children! The positive reviews are planted by the management. The directors response to an unhappy parent is a farce! She lies to parents & there is ZERO communication, all they want is your money! Recently, one of their teachers was arrested for molesting a 5 year old student. According to news reports, this child was molested from Jan till March 2008 while playing "a game" inside the schools bathroom. The teacher also admitted his actions to police. Don't take my word for it, Google the company for the news articles. This is unfortunate, but not a surprise, considering that they've gotten violations from the department of health for not conducting proper screening of employees--among many others. Reconsider this place---it's terrible! Before this scandal, I witnessed children verbally abused & heard from other parents of "excessive dicipline". I couldn't get my child out of there fast enough.

Provided by YP.comI am a working parent with a rotating schedule and it is very difficult for me to tie myslef down to a set number of days -- the staff is wonderful in working with me and allowing me to use the school as needed. My 2 boys love it here and have learned much since they have started with Oakdale. The staff is warm and caring and I always find the facility to be bright and cheery. I always drop in unannounced as my schedule is so crazy and I always love what I see when I surprise them. I adore the materials they use and just love the creations the kids bring home. I could not have asked for more!

Provided by YP.comThis school has 2 sites. The Victory Blvd site is reputed to be even worse than the Richmond Ave site, which is terrible! I abruptly pulled my kid out of there months ago & he still gets upset when reminded of it in any way, (whether we drive by or mention it in conversation). They yell at kids, withhold food, make them stay in high-chairs for long periods of time. The care is inadequate & the staff turnover is enormous! My child always came home filthy & starving. Suffered severe diaper rashes as a result of not being changed. Talking to the director is a waste of time & breath. All she does is yes you to death. They also have a very strict closed door policy. My advice is to go someplace else.

Provided by YP.comThis school has been wonderful for me and my kids. It offers the most comprehensive program around. I was amazed ow much they learned and how much they enjoyed going to school everyday.

Provided by YP.comI had my child here & I'm sorry I didn't pull out sooner! Staff turnover is tremendous, new people every few weeks. The care the children get is shoddy, at best. My child was often in the same wet/dirty diaper for much if not all of the day. Numerous attempts to resolve issues with the director fell on deaf ears. All she did was pay lip service, but the problems never got solved. It looks nice from the outside, but the inside, when you can get in, smells like feces. There is no communication, whatsoever, regarding the childs progress. When asked, they always respond "everything's fine". It is up to the parent to find out what, if any, problems the child is having on their own. They also nickel & dime you to death with unreasonable, miscellaneous costs. You are also constantly required to bring in supplies that the children do not benefit from. I will be more than happy to provide additional details regarding my experiences here upon request. Do your children a favor, and avoid this place. I wish I had!
Thank you so much for your review. It disappoints me that you found the school to be less than desirable and I find many of the statements you made hard to believe. There is a diaper log kept on each child and they are changed regularly at least every 2 hours. We try to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and never have had a complaint about any smells in the building. When a parent calls in to check on their child or comes to make a spot visit we share the truth with the parent and alert them to any concerns we have. In addition, there are 3 progress reports that go home each year, and an opportunity for parent teacher conferences. Once again, I am not certain where or why some of your statements were made, but I would be happy to address any previous issues with you regarding your personal circumstances even though you may not attend the school any longer. I certainly hope your child is happy as are you in your new program and if you should need anything further or would like an opportunity for open dialogue I am available. Good luck and enjoy the holidays with your family.
