Jeff did our pool in the summer of 2014. It was a breeze. Very personable guy, who was always willing to help. Came back out when it was time to close the pool and walked us through what to do. Also, called in the spring and asked if we needed help re opening. He has always responded back to me with any questions I have. My family and I are more than satisfied with the pool, and allure pools customer service. The Halls Statesville

Wow, almost the exact same problems here as the previous comment. Promises made but not kept. Incorrect installation (improper reinforcement, which voids the manufacturer's warranty). Pool feature that was in the contract was not in place when the pool arrived. Substituted filtration system (which we accidentally noticed in time). Constant delays and unwillingness to work with our schedule, as promised (putting us off for weeks, then rushing to finish). (To stay on schedule, we did more things ourselves than we should have, including renting equipment and applying our own manual labor -- in August in the south.) Basic things done incorrectly, which we had to fix (costly and time consuming). Allure owner was not on site often enough to prevent or solve problems. Slow communication (to call us back or show up onsite). Misleading communication. Blaming us for their mistakes. Final price significantly above estimate, with no warning.

This "company" is nothing more...

This "company" is nothing more than a nice guy (watch out he'll fool you) that is willing to promise you anything you ask for...but he does NOT deliver. What he DOES deliver looks good for a week or two, then it all falls apart. He never even finished the job. We had to hire someone else to fix his work. DO NOT USE ALLURE POOLS or Jeff Young...they'll rip you off and you'll end up paying lots more to fix it than to just go with a big name pool builder.

In response to this customer’s concerns, Allure Pools & Spas would like to contribute the following comments: The mentioned over dig was required because of bad soil surrounding the pool. Forty tons of river sand were filled in around the pool, and 17 loads of dirt were delivered and compacted to compensate, per pool construction standards. Prior to pouring concrete, the ground was plate compacted, pilings dug around the perimeter, plastic laid, and wire mesh and rebar placed. The concrete cracks this customer refers to occurred primarily in control joints, which is completely normal. Control joints are, in effect, planned cracks—they are used for the very purpose of preventing cracks from spreading to the surrounding concrete. There was one crack that occurred outside of the control joints. Had we been able to complete our work on the project, that crack would have been repaired prior to placing the concrete coating and sealer. This customer agreed to a concrete coating on the patio to achieve the two-color treatment, but it couldn’t be done until 30 days after the initial pour. Sealing is done after the coating. The pool in question holds 18,000 gallons—not 24,000 as this customer claims. In addition, the Aquatrol system is marketed for above-ground pools, but performs well in any type of smaller pool, up to 18,000 gallons. Yet at the family’s request, we replaced it with an Aquarite system. In response to this customer’s dissatisfaction with the fact that we did not finish the job as agreed upon, we would like to point out that the only reason work stopped was because of non-payment. Our contract, which this customer signed, states that all work would stop if payments weren’t made. We received text messages from the family stating that they loved the pool and visitors they had at their house wanted to get in touch with us about constructing pools for their homes. That all changed when we began requesting payments. this client refused to pay because there were “too many issues,” but when we asked for specifics, he claimed there were "too many to list" and ultimately said "we don’t need your help anymore.” We would have been glad to come to an agreeable solution, but this customer was unwilling to cooperate. This family enjoyed the pool for over a month while we completed the fence, waterfall wall, and fire pit. The fire pit size was even increased from the contracted size of 48" to 60" per the customer’s request, and we allowed him to pick out the cut stone of his preference. Both of these extra pool services were provided at no additional charge. In short, these claims made by this customer are unfounded and taken out of context. If anyone has any questions about our pool services, we’d be glad to answer them. Give us a call at 704-661-9976.
