Smith-Barnes Elementary School serves students in grades four and five. Its academic curriculum includes programs in reading, language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. The school additionally offers classes in art, music and physical education. Smith-Barnes Elementary School also offers an after-school enrichment program. It offers an early intervention program that provides additional instructional resources to help students who are performing below grade level. The school organizes geography and spelling bee and poetry recitation competitions. Smith-Barnes Elementary School supports a junior beta club that focuses on service-related projects. In addition, it organizes competitions that provide opportunities to students to display what they have learned about African Americans. The school is located in Stockbridge, Ga., and is a part of Henry County Schools.

I absolutely love this school. Mrs. Williams the 4th grade teacher is so wonderful with my son. I love that she calls her students scholars and pushes them to strive above and beyond. She's always in contact with the parents and treats the kids as her babies. She offers her love and support at all times. The staff is friendly and understanding to my son needs for medical purposes. The nurse Ms. Stone I adore because my son has been in her office for many health issues and each time she's very attentive. I appreciate the text updates from the principal and how he is always informing parents on what needs to be done as well as what is happening. Overall great school in my opinion.
