Provided by YP.comGlen and the staff were extremely professional and caring during the time of loss of our father. They made everything very easy for us at a time when our minds just weren't able to focus clearly on some of the things we needed to do. I would highly recommend SouthCare.

Provided by YP.comMy husband passed on July 4 and even though it was a holiday, Mr. Glenn Telfer of SouthCare came immediately. He did not pressure me in any way and was extremely supportive. Through the entire process he always put my needs first and went above and beyond in the service he provided. Everything I requested was taken care of and I was extremely pleased with the attention to detail. They don't deserve 5 stars...they deserve 10!!

Provided by YPmobileWe used Sourhcare in May for my Father's cremation and funeral. Glenn and his staff were compassionate and professional. Not only did they handle the problems that arose from obtaining the death certificate but also arranged all the military details requested.

Provided by YP.comMy father passed away on March 5th. We contacted the Cremation Society of the South after being recommended by a family friend. They had a basic package which included transportation, the cremation, obtaining the death certificate from the physician, filing the death certificate with the county and social security and sending a notice to the newspaper about his passing and memorial service. We had sceduled my fathers memorial for the 29th of March to accommidate family and friends who wished to attend. We notified the Cremation Society on the 8th concerning the memorial so they could send the obituary to the newspaper. My mother contacted the Cremation Society on the 26th asking about the death certificate and the newspaper obituary. The director informed her they never received the death certificate from the doctor. She contacted the doctors office and was told they had released the death certificate to the Cremation Society representative on the 12th. When she called the director back, he said "well we don't have it and we will have to request it again". She also inquired about the obituary. She was told he would send the request to the newspaper the next day even though he was given the information more than 2 weeks prior. It was obvious he had forgotten to contact the newspaper or he just didn't care.
Needless to say, we are very disappointed in the service provided by the Cremation Society of the South. We will not be using them again and do not recommend them to anyone.
The Doctors office gave the death certificate to the wrong Funeral Home, so we had to submit a new one, and the 'Free' notice was sent to newspaper on the 25th. If it's sent too soon people will forget so its good to send it a few days before the service. Also, sometimes the newspaper doesn't print the 'Free' notice because there isn't room in the paper. SouthCare does care and hopes this explains the situation.
