Provided by YP.comHi Kurt,
This is Mike, I am 1 of the managers at Farmers Feed. Sorry for the unfortunate predicament we've encountered. We however do not usually replace baby chicks as you were informed on the phone and on the big neon sign conveniently placed by the baby chicks. If I remember correctly you came in towards the end of the day, and I remember You to be intently picking the 3 chicks that YOU chose. So that everyone can get an accurate picture... All of our chicks are at least 1 1/2 weeks old or older. You stated that the white polish, (the chick that died) was acting lethargic at the store, but you thought it was tired. In fact you took it out of the cage 2x so u did have plenty of time to examine the chick yourself. At least you could have mentioned at the time of purchase that you thought something was possibly wrong with it. Instead with it being the last one you went against your gut and you took it. With the very nice sized flock that you have already, I am going to assume that you have some decent experience with poultry. So then you should know that it was 102 degrees yesterday, you drove approximately 40 minutes with them in a card board box. Then you put a heat lamp, on them when you got home, hung originally 8-10 inches above, then changed to 12-14 inches conveniently when reviewing us on FaceBook and who knows where else. So those were problems 2 and 3. A great way to tell if the temperature is correct, is to place a thermometer at chick level. This is extremely important so that you know when to make adjustments to your brooder. Now that we know the full story, not just your side of things, instead of us replacing a chick that we've only made a WHOPPING 45 cents on by the time you purchased it, IF THAT. I would think you would understand our reasoning as to why we don't replace chicks. And I did call 3 of those stores that you happened to mention in your review, and kinda weird, but they have the SAME POLICY we do when it comes to baby chicks...

Provided by YP.comThe prices are not too bad. But what really got me disappointed was the customer service. I noticed a Asian/Filipino young man around 16 - 19. when he assisted me he gave me short answers & his facial expression gave me a hint that he didn't want me there. He was even texting on his Motorola razor phone. He made me feel like if i wasn't important to him. He even told another co-worker "Can you handle this one?" he didn't in an annoyance way. I felt EXTREMELY awkward the whole time. & this wasn't a one time thing, I've been there for years & ever he started working there he has been like this. Others have complained about him but never to the manager. Advice if you go don't give your orders to that Asian/ Filipino guy.
