The Basket Bakery originally began as a wholesale bakery with a small additional luncheon room, operated by the Frieses, a German couple. As the bakery’s customers grew, so did the popularity of Hilde's extraordinary cooking. Now in its third location, The Village Corner German Restaurant includes a traditional style German tavern, a European bakery and a cafe style dining room that serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. A traditional German menu contains potato pancakes, Black Forest ham and Weiner Schnitzel among other selections. Our artistic and decorative bakery cakes are worthy of any special occasion. In addition The Village Corner boasts a wonderful banquet room that facilitates weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, parties and much more. The Basket Bakery originally began as a wholesale bakery with a small additional luncheon room, operated by the Frieses, a German couple. Some things are better than other thiings.. Their love bugs are addictive...and is a unique chocolate pastry...Bar is nice...I have had a good experience with the food. Lived in Germany and love the atmosphere...Homemade breads...Some of the baked goods are not well made...It is a matter of getting to know the place and figuring out what is always good and what is always mediocre....Cool atmosphere in the suburb of Atlanta...Has a lot of fun events that I always plan to go to but never get there. Pumpkin bread is pretty good...Again, everything is homemade and that is always better than store bought...Give this place a chance.

Poor service. Mediocre food. D...

Poor service. Mediocre food. Do not honor reservations made on the web. I have been to the Village Corner several times but no more. I have overlooked the okay (not great) food and the strudel that is served cold. I have over looked the slow service. I kept coming back be cause it was the only German restaurant close by. No more. They botched our reservations on our anniversary dinner. Left word for the manager to call with staff and sent several emails.

Owner Contacted me to apologize for the troubles. Indicated that they were training new staff.

Stay away from Mail Order

Used mail order. Products were delivered 2 days late for party even though they were ordered 10 days in advance. Shipment refused. Although they state "full refund" they will not credit my card payment or reply to numerous emails & mail requests.

Good Times

My wife and I were vacationing in the area. We saw the place during the day and decided to go later that night. We had a great time when we got there. It was our first time trying German cuisine. We didnt know what to get, but the owners were very helpful in helping us to decide. We ended up with a platter of different sausages, potatoe pancakes and such. The beer selection was great. Overall I would like to stopp there again.

awlful!

Everything was terrible. The food was poor quality, the place was dirty and there was hair in my dinner. It used to be such a nice place to eat now it should be closed down.
