Located in the central part of the state among rolling hills, peaceful rivers, and rock outcroppings, Dan River Campground is a family-owned and operated, quiet family campground welcoming tenters & RVers. We have been entertaining tent and rv campers in a family atmosphere since 1992. Dan River Campground features many extra touches that you don't find at any campground; guests can enjoy the convenience of a camp store offering some rv and camping supplies, firewood, propane and ice. Walmart is less than 4 miles from the park for your grocery needs.

Rude and and the most socially unacceptable owner I have ever met. Don't waste your money. The guy is a real yerk.

Worst customer service ever. Rude owner with ridiculous rules. He is confrontational, non-flexible and a poor communicator. Anyone who pays there hard earned money to stay somewhere should be treated with a certain level of respect. Go somewhere else.

My second time here this year love this place so peaceful and the staff is amazing and very helpful. Weather sucked but it was still fun. Highly recommend this campground.

I would say that I had been th...

I would say that I had been there TWICE my first time & my last time ALL IN ONE VISIT. The owned is a real Nazi. We went there for an over night stay with my son and his family.. The site seemed nice but there was nothing for the two grandkids to do and fishing acess is really bad unless you are a GOAT. We were sitting by our fire around 3:00 PM with the van radio playing softly in the background ( nobody within 150' off us) and Glenn or whoever the manager is comes up and says " Turn the radio off". Why? I ask, has someone complained? He responds "I am complaining right now". So I turned off the radio and he left, only to drive around the corner to come back and SPY on us. That night we found out that if you"re a regular permenant site you can play music as loud as you want all night. Also that night we got a little rain and all the tent sites flooded. IT COST US $36.00 TO CAMP THERE ONE NIGHT 4 ADULTS AND 2 CHILDREN. THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF. BEEN THERE TWICE " MY FIRST & LAST TIME ALL IN ONE VISIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the business star rating I give it a minus 5.

Just like the review before I ...

Just like the review before I was treated rudly. My wife is a teacher and I work for the goverment. I was coming to the campground with two family for a weekend of river fun. After about a 5 minutes chat on the phone with someone named Glenn, I defintely will not go to this place. He says he likes to keep out bad elements, and I asked if I was a bad element, and he said I don't know, maybe. I asked how he could judge me over the phone, and he had no answer for that one. Defitnely do not go there. If you want to have a fun camping trip in a nice friendly, family enviroment go to the New River Campground north of Sparta, NC. Maybe Glenn can go to work for them and see how to run a campground. I figure less than a year and the Dan River Campground will be out of business. I know I am telling everyone I can not to go. Good thing I do alot of camping, and kayaking, and run in circles with poeple who would use the campground. I already found someone else who will not use the campground. They went, and were extremely disappointed. Place was dirty, staff was rude, and they were overcharged with what was quoted to them. EVERYONE Tell your freinds and family not to use this campground.

NO Responsible Adults Allowed

My husband and I, along with two other couples wanted to spend a relaxing weekend camping and tubing. Because we do not have kids yet, we were not allowed to come to this campsite. I understand that college kids and other typical rowdy groups ruined it for the rest of us. Even after I explained that my group was a group of professionals consisting of teachers, school counselor, dental hygienist, and a college professor with a PHD (all in our thirties), the owner still refused to allow us to come to the site even after taking our money. When I told them that I would like my money back, he said that there would be a cancellation fee!
