Achievement Centers for Children is a private, nonprofit organization, serving children with disabilities through customized therapies, education and child care programs, camping and recreation opportunities, autism programs, and family support services. The organization was started in 1940 as a three-man Rotary Club service project known as Society for Crippled Children. It serves children up to age 5, with a wide range of disabilities, including physical, neurological, sensory, cognitive or a combination of these. The organization offers a wide range of services, such as environmental recommendations, sensory processing, social skill development, casting and splinting, and feeding and eating. The center provides free autism awareness bracelets to all the registered users on its Web site. It is licensed and accredited by various agencies, including the American Camping Association, Ohio Department of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities, Ohio Department of Mental Health, and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. Achievement Centers for Children has offices in Highland Hills, Lakewood and Strongsville, Ohio.
