Provided by YP.comBought a yorkie puppy when they were in Broadheadsville years ago. My husband asked one of the workers there where they get their puppies from. The woman told him a "puppy farm". (If someone doesnt know what a "puppy farm" is, it's another name for a puppy mill. The breeder's last name was Yoder (Amish)). Hearing that I didn't want to get a puppy there, but my husband talked me into it. Poor little girl was sick throughout her whole life, in and out of the vet. She lived a short yorkie life and put her down last week. Save yourself the heartache and adopt, don't buy and keep these places in business!

Provided by YP.comI got my boy at Yuppy Puppy 3 years ago & it was the best decision of my life! He’s the happiest healthy humongous lab ever. 3 years later I still buy food, toys & supplies from the Stroudsburg/Bartonsville location because the staff is awesome. They know my boy’s name & he visits with us too. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful, true pet loving people.
Thank you Yuppy Puppy for bringing me & my best friend together

Provided by YP.comWorst customer service I've ever seen. Went in to get dog food and a manager doing paper work named Mary Alice was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Dropped everything I had and went to petsmart. Unbelievably bad service and will not go here again

Provided by YP.comPlease don't ever buy a puppy from here. While the employees at the store might be nice and helpful, this store knowingly sells puppy mill puppies-- the ones that come from those horrid mills in Missouri & other states in the South. Was shown "paperwork" by one of the employees there on one of the westie puppies there. Was not going to buy, but was just curious as this place claims that they only get dogs from "local" breeders only.
I got the breeder's name from said paperwork and did some research. The dog came from a puppy mill in Missouri that was listed on the top 100 worst puppy mills in the US.
This place doesn't care about animals, just turning a profit. It's tempting when you walk in there, because you see the pups living in saw dust and you just want to "rescue" them. Seriously, don't do it. Don't allow Yuppy Puppy or these unscrupulous breeders to profit off of you. I don't know how the owners of this place sleep at night.

Provided by YP.comI purchased a dog at Yuppy Puppy she is very lovable and she is brown and orange, a beautiful Pomeranian! The staff in the store was very helpful to us. They gave us great facts about the dog and how to care for her. The trip to the vet was also good. The vet said she has clear lungs and a healthy heart beat. Nothing was bad about the staff at yuppy puppy all the helpers were very nice. Me and my family will definitely recommend Yuppy Puppy to others. And YES, it is possible to find happy healthy dogs from a pet store although i hate calling it a pet store because they are a step above the rest. They truly care where these animals are going and dedicated to finding the pets the forever homes. When the time is right i will be buying my future dog, again, from Yuppy Puppy

Provided by YPmobileTook the family in Saturday afternoon to look for fish. There were 3 people standing at the door like prison guards. My 7 year old saw a cute chihuahua puppy for $1300 and asked to pet it. We were told "no were not a petting zoo! If I let people just pet dogs I'd be nothing more than a petting zoo! Will never return because of the attitudes. So I do a little research after being do upset and find out the owner was arrested recently for running a prostitution ring... Lovely. Tells you the type of people they are!

Provided by YP.comBack in December I purchased a Golden Retriever puppy from Yuppy Puppy in Guilford. Paid $1,200.00 for the puppy and by day two, my puppy was having bloody diarrhea every 20 minutes or so. He was rushed to the emergency animal hospital, tested, and diagnosed with Giardia (almost $600.00 later). After consulting with the owners and employees at Yuppy Puppy since they "stand behind their dogs" we demanded that they pay that vet bill. They first asked if we wanted to return the puppy ( LIKE IT WAS A PIECE OF FURNITURE OR A SHIRT THAT DIDN'T FIT), --um NO, we fell in love with him and we were not going to just give him back. They did take care of that one vet bill, but since then there has been MANY more. So now, 5ish months later, my dog still suffers from many intestinal issues due to the neglect and trauma the Giardia caused while in their care. Our poor dog will be on specialized food and medication twice a day for the rest of his life. ALSO, they claim they only get puppies from "local breeders," that is a LIE. I did my research (because they wouldn't release the breeders info, only a first initial and last name) and contacted the so called "breeder" who informed me he is not a breeder his dog just had puppies and was looking to get rid of them. I received no paperwork on the parents or anything. The "breeder" was mortified though to know that in Yuppy Puppy's care he had gotten as sick as he did. The vet told us if we didnt take him home and take him to the vet when we did, he would have died. DO NOT BUY FROM YUPPY PUPPY!

Provided by YPmobileA year ago I bought a Husky puppy from this store in Stroudsburg Pennsylvania. The store was very clean in itself and the sales associates were very friendly, however at the front desk I was told that the breeder will not give their number or info out which was a bit strange. When the dog was brought home he kept vomiting right away, after being taken right to the vet, I was told that he had worms, which usually all puppies are born with, but stated that these were not worms gotten through the moms milk, and that he lived in rancid conditions. After spending tons of money on worming him we finally complained to the owner who reimbursed us some of the vet bill, which helped alot. However after taking him to many trainers I was told they can't help me with him due to him being to hyper "even for a husky". A year later my dog is in good health and behaviour after lots of work & love. I can't seem to understand why the breeder number was not available. I will not be buying from here again due to all this.

Provided by YP.comI have purchased a pup fron this very clean, well run establishment. I held many pups before choosing mine and there was not a flea to be found. The staff here is friendly and so helpful. I do understand the burden of fleas but they have alot of fast cures for this common pest. They even offer a vet credit to offset some of those unexpected mishaps. Please be careful what you write about the small, family run businesses that struggle so much in this rotten economy. Lets all keep these fine establishments up and running. ps...i love my yuppy puppy!

Provided by YP.comHorrible experience. Would not recomend or even purchase a gold fish from this place after what happened. I purchased for my family (wife and two children, 1 and 5 years old) an AKC lab for $1000. After bringing the puppy home we discovered it was infested with fleas. So our first night together basically involved us having to quarantine our new puppy. We took the puppy to the vet the very next day to resolve the fleas and contacted Yuppy Puppy to explain what happened....Their response was uhhhhh, the puppy is no longer our concern, sorry. Come by and we'll give you some flea spray......and thats it. Not to mention they gave us the wrong paperwork for the dog to certify it with the AKC. Unproffessional, unclean, and downright uncaring. Do yourself a favor and purchase through a qualified breeder. I'm sure they will respond to this review and reply with a completely different story and attitude, but I'm telling you from my experience this place is a horrible business and I would give the advice to stay away!

Provided by YPmobileMy family purchased a Rottweiler there and they were very kind. They cleaned up the dog before we brought her home and called us when her papers came in for her registration. She had a clean bill of health from our vet and has the sweetest attitude. We will be purchasing our next pet from here. The best part is that our dog came from a breeder and not a puppy mill. We spoke to the breeder our selves. Couldn't be happier

Provided by YP.comWe purchased a Golden Retriever from Yuppy Puppy......Not only was the puppy ill with a Bacterial Infection (Vomitting and Diarhrea) she had a horrible case of worms....Owner is extremely unprofessional and doesnt conduct business well....My puppy was extremely ill and if she was taken care of properly before purchasing her....she would have been healthy....Dont put your family through the ordeal! Go somewhere else
Unfortunatley as the owner of Yuppy Puppy I am not going to be able to make everyone happy. This is a typical example of that. I immediately rushed this pup to my vet and had it treated. The pup had worms and a bacterial infection. I paid the bill. Worms are VERY common but infections are not. I had the entire litter of these Golden Retrievers. This was the only one that became ill. That shows that it was not because I hadn't taken care of them. It was because that pup had a low immune system and got sick with the stress of the move. I have learned to not take attacks like this to heart even though it is hard. I care about the puppies and also about the families I sell them to. Majority of all our customers are happy and usually come back to us for merchandise, food and even more pups. Tara

Provided by YP.comEmployees will openly show you puppy papers which lead back to puppy mills. Does not do returns?? How responsible can they be if they refuse to take back a dog who may end up in a shelter?!?
All employees at Yuppy Puppy are instructed to show and share all the breeder information with the customer. We have nothing to hide. Why would we do that if they lead back to Mills? I have a no return policy do to Health reasons. Puppies cannot leave the building, be exposed to virusus, germs' and bacteria that can be brought back into the store. It is very dangerous for our puppies to be exposed to germs. That is why we try to bleach everything down daily and also make everyone use hand sanitizer. The vet agrees. If someone has to surrender a puppy I will help them by bringing it home and putting it in a 14 day Quarentine. I would never leave a puppy with no where to go.
