The Rice Research and Extension Center serves students, interns and industry professionals. It is one of the leading rice research locations in the United States. The center features a land that spreads across an area of more than 900 acres. It is involved in the applied and production-oriented research of rice and rotation crops, such as soybean and wheat. The Rice Research and Extension Center focuses on the areas of plant breeding, pathology, entomology, agronomy, physiology, genetics and economics. The center has a drying, cleaning and bagging facility and serves the seed industry in Arkansas. It is a part of the Division of Agriculture of the University of Arkansas.
