I'm too leary to do business with them. My only experience comes in trying to find a boat since this past summer. I found a $100,000+ boat that was of interest at Shipyard. Sent email inquiry and received no response. Took day off work to drive to their location and look at boat and Andy (owner) almost seemed annoyed that I was taking up his time (still not sure why but think he may have had a deal pending and just didn't say so). Left with Andy "going to run some numbers" to give me a final price and some interest rate info. No return call. I sent him an email and again no response. Few weeks later saw boat had hold on it. Another similar boat we had been watching was pulled off the market during this time. Was dissapointed in the lack of follow up but gave Andy benefit of the doubt. Later found another boat that was of interest and sent email for additional info. Again no response. Asked around with other boaters and found our experience was not unique. Did not follow up any further on second boat. If this is the service I can expect while buying a boat, I can't imagine how they would treat me after I had already given them a check. I am still looking for a boat for next year but am looking elsewhere. On a positive note, Shipyard does seem to maintain a decent stock of nice boats. I just don't want to buy a boat from someone who is unreliable at best and possibly worst. My advice to Shipyard Marine would be to hire a good salesperson. Communication and business image really matter these days.
