Birdsong Corporation owns and operates the Birdsong Peanut Company, a processor of raw peanuts for sale to peanut product manufacturers in the United States and around the world. Founded in 1911 by T.H. Birdsong, the company was originally in the storage business. In the mid-1930 s Birdsong began milling peanuts. The parent company, Birdsong Corporation, was created in 1974 when Birdsong Storage Company and American Cold Storage merged. The company headquarters is in Suffolk, Va. The company is also a member of the Business Strengthening America group, a self-directed, multi-year, peer-to-peer effort to engage thousands of America's business leaders in a campaign to encourage civic engagement and service.
