Provided by YP.comNOTE: NEVER GO TO BRAKE CHECK, THEY ARE LIARS, DISHONEST, AND COMPLETELY SCREWED UP MY CAR AND PUT MY FAMILY'S LIFE IN DANGER TWICE.
I went to this Brake Check location for a simple $30 oil change and left with the worst auto service I've ever had in my entire life, two incidents where my family's life was in danger and $1700 in damages to my car....
After obtaining what I thought was an oil change, I drove for about 5 miles and my car broke down. I obtained a tow truck to take my car back to my house, upon which we checked the oil dip stick and reservoir and found NO OIL IN THE CAR. They had forgotten to add the oil back in to my car upon completion of the oil change. The next morning, I called the location and spoke to Cedric a supervisor. He stated that he would come out to check the car and re-fill the oil if needed. My wife observed him checking the car, and finding no oil and thereafter he added over 5 quarts of oil to the car. He started the car, everything ran fine. Unfortunately HE FORGOT TO LATCH THE HOOD ON COMPLETION OF HIM ADDING THE OIL. Thereafter my wife drove the car on the freeway with our 2 year old son upon which the hood flew up in her face on the freeway, causing her to swerve and nearly have a life threatening accident. Our hood as well as roof were severely damaged. That was the second incident of gross negligence on their part and therefore I WAS NOT going to take the car back to their shop.
I then took the car to a local auto body shop for the required repairs. Totalling around $1700. Upon calling Brake Check and explaining to them the situation Brad Napier, the operations manager and/or director attempted to bully me over the phone...I assume he read my name and thought that I was some small statured foreigner that didn't know my rights. When I showed up at the Brake Check and he realized that I had about 5'' in height and about 70 lbs. of muscle on him, his tone quickly changed to that of a whiny little girl.
Anywho, he took my complaint and proceeded to find every excuse possible to try and not accept responsibility. He lied on several occassions, including him stating that "He has no record of Cedric coming to add oil" and thereafter stating that "Cedric went out to add oil but found that oil was already in the car", in the same conversation! After much arguing he asked for documentation regarding the charges and stated that I would be reimbursed for damages after processing with the corporate office. When I would call back to check for an update, he had every excuse in the book as to why nothing was being done and why *I* had to submit further documentation.
Yesterday I received a call from Brian Smith a Corporate director stating that they would not accept any liability, nor did he apologize for the incident or even offer a refund for the original oil change! Therefore a $30 oil change turned in to over $1700 in damages to my car, not even an apology, and attempts to place blame on *ME* the customer who only wanted to get a basic oil change done. They can't treat people like this and legal action will be taken! NO MATTER WHAT DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THESE VERY INCOMPETENT PEOPLE.
