I have tried again and again to give this salon a chance. It’s a hair salon that does pretty hair (sometimes) that is right down the street from my house.. I have looked past the long wait times, the occasional unprofessionalism and I even decided to go back once more after there was a serious VERBAL almost turned PHYSICAL altercation between two employees where the B and F words were being thrown around loosely in front of the children.... I was going to stop going there after that but I needed my daughter’s hair done last minute and decided to just go one more time and see how it goes. Well I have confimed that I won’t ever go back to this salon AGAIN. EVER. I will keep my daughter’s hair in a puff ball for a month if I need to before I ever go back to this salon. They set my daughter’s hair up and charged me $85 for it when the discussed prices was $65 even after I showed him the styles she wanted. He never changed the price until it was time to pay. And honestly I wouldn’t have been as upset as I was if the hair looked good... the braids the young girl did looked so amateur and I paid for a professional service. That was the last dime this salon will ever get from me so enjoy that $85. I was a fool to keep thinking going to this salon was a good idea.

My daughter has been going there for a year and now she has dermatitis from that dirty salon. She is on antibiotics, has to have special shampoo and an ointment. They need to was their comes or something.

The worst experience ever my child has been Salon lots of time and she loves her stylist. But this was the second we had an appointment and the stylist did not show. After 3 hours of waiting and thinking another stylist would do my daughters hair come to find the stylist had an appointment and would not be able to do my daughters hair. So now we are leaving and the owner comes and says you still have to pay $20 because we shampooed and blow dried her hair. I pay and now I still have to take my daughter some where to get her hair done and pay again and she tells me you shouldn't have picked that stylist she's not good. Really Lady how unprofessional is that but you employ her.

Left work early to get there by her appointment time (345) only to have her sit for 1 before they ever started. The young lady executed the style nicely but my daughter was literally THE LAST client to leave (930p or so). I doubt I take her back. They don't respect their clients time

My child goes to the bathroom and theres a trashcan full of water with the ceiling leaking water falling on me as I held her across the toilet yes held her because it was so filthy I didnt want her skin to touch any part of that toilet it was so damm dirty no toilet paper on top of that it was cold I ask the lady at the front can she adjust the air she replied Its only on 72 degrees mind you its chilli out today so 72 is really cold considering the temp outside the lounge was closed so we sat on lawn chairs...smh yep everthing about this place screams black owned oh did I mention my appointment was at 11:30 didnt get seen until 2 this is my last time here...smh so damm filthy and full of ghetto stylist that curse like sailors

This has to be the dirtiest salon that I have ever been to.I didn't want my kids touching anything. The owners lack customer service. The prices on line and on the cards don't match the price the charge you once your child's hair is done. But worst of all my daughter developed ring worm on her scalp after getting her hair done there. I am going to take appropriate action on this matter. The need to clean their shop, they need to make sure they clean their combs and other stuff they use in kids hair and they need to clean their mouths out with soap. This place will never change with the owners that they have. I can't stress to you enough. Do not take your child here there are way better places that will treat you and your child like you should be treated. Very unsatisfied and disgusted customer.

Making an appointment is useless as another reviewer stated. They braided my daughter's hair so tight I had to take it out within hours when I realized how her scalp was being pulled. Owner didn't care and the braider only made up excuses (oh and she tried to blame it on me because I chose a style not recommended for 9 year olds and girls with very fine hair, like I should've magically known that beforehand). The owner offered me $10 off my next visit which was very insulting considering I'd just spent $150 in her establishment.

This was our second time here, we made an appt. just to have to sit and wait 30 minutes to an hour for a stylist to come in. What is the point in making a appt at all. We were the first to sign in as well and even children arriving after us were rushed to the back when there stylist arrived! After our first visit, I was willing to overlook the wait because my child's stylist did an excellent job on her hair! But to come back again and to give the shop a fair chance was so disappointing! We will not be coming back here for a 3rd.

What!!! The previous reviewers must have never run a successful business before. Let alone a children's business. First I will say that the owners of this business are outstanding people. The wife is so unselfish that she gave my child a $10 discount because it was her birthday on my first visit there. One of the stylist took me to the side and said, "She never turns anyone away if they don't have enough to pay". The business is so popular that it can get a little messy at times, but there are over 200 cartoon characters on the wall, very nice place area, a party room that the owers open for the overflow without an addtional charge that is beautiful. Not clean, well I guess if they did not have over 150 kids coming in every week, the place would be emaculate. But my children love the BRAT BOX SALON 4 KIDS because they are treated like family. Keep growing Brat Box. I am certainly spreading the word. PS The owner change stylist who do not work well with children. So if one was saying things out of the line, I bet they are gone.

This was my first visit to the Brat Box Salon 4 Kids in Suitland, MD. My initial impression of the salon was GHETTO! The only friendly person in the salon was the greeter. Maybe she was the owner I don't know but she was very friendly. But on the other hand the stylist were NOT FRIENDLY, no customer service skills what so ever! The salon is not clean, the girls who wash the hair practically burn the little girls scalp; using high heat and hand hair dryers with teeth that are broken. My daughter complained not only of her scalp being burned, but also of being kept under a hot dryer for a long period of time where her neck felt like it was on fire. The stylist who I was designated was immature, lacked people skills and was NOT FRIENDLY. I was told by my daughter that this stylist was not descret in describing what she was going to do that evening and her description of her evening was riddle with profanity. This is a business servicing children. I would not recommend this location for any child. Oh yeah, my daughters style was subpar. Nothing special for the $65 price tag.

First off this salon needs to be cleaned. The salon is dirty including the rest rooms. The floors in the play area are disgusting. More importantly getting a appt with a particular stylist is like pulling teeth. Your put on hold for long periods of time if not left on hold. I set in the salon and watched the shampoo girls wash children hair one time and roughly blow it with out putting any type of conditioner or detangling product in it. I've also witness several customers waiting for long periods of time and complaining to the owner. Ive seen Parents upset about the way their child hair was done as well. The staff desperately needs customer service training and the shampoo ladies need a intro class on washing and conditioning children hair. Every child's hair should be wash at least 3 times and conditioned before being blew out.
