Castillo Brothers was recommended to us by a reputable source. We were hit hard by Hurricane Harvey in Texas. They started work on our home Nov. 24, 2017, by the end of April they still weren’t done We eventuality contacted a local contractor to finish and clean up their mistakes. I am very very disappointed in the work they did. Floors not prepped properly for install of glued down linoleum strips. I was told the floor that would be installed would be snap together, would float if another flood came or if repair was need. This is not what was brought and installed. Floor consistently coming up and having to be re glued down by me and new contractors. Floor leveling agent not used for different areas in wooden floor. Wooden floor in areas of home are bulging up because new flooring was laid over flooded floors that weren’t dry enough for new floor install. Holes were all over mudded walls because of wrong type of mud used, capturing air bubbles which rose to the surface and created little craters all over the wall...corrected by new contractors. Too large pocket door installed, it protrudes by 4 inches. To be replaced by new contractors. We had major work done in our home by this company, lots of imperfections, very sad for me because we have to now live with their mistakes. Some areas of painted walls are easily marred, saw cuts in wood facings, quarter round not nailed down, brass colored screws used on black door hinges or missing screw in hinges holding doors. Missing cabinet door replaced with door that doesn’t match $$$$ kitchen cabinets. Nothing I can do now about their bad work except to warn other unknowing customers, “ buyer beware.”
